ipod touch advice

wonder what the cost of the new touch will be .. would it be similar to the prices now ?
 
So when the new one is released, is it likely that the price of the others will drop? I want to get DD the 8 gb for her 10th B-day in October, possibly a refurbished one from the Apple website.
