Does anyone use a generic iPod USB power adapter to charge their touch? Not the power cable, but one that plugs into the wall? I had one for my first generation but it is not compatible with the 4th generation and I really don't want to pay $30 for one from Apple.

My son uses this one to charge his 3rd gen touch...

I bought this set for him (from gizmo dorks amazon seller) for his vado, but it works with any usb cord. Sometimes the touch gives him the message that the charger is not compatable, but he just unplugs it and plugs it in again and it works fine.

Our computer is set to go to sleep after 20 min, so it doesn't work well for charging. He uses the wall adapter to charge his touch.

Don't waste your money buying a charger from Apple. A third party charger purchased from an Amazon or eBay seller will cost very little and work fine.
