iPod Questions

I have a few questions and help with any of them would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
I recently got the shuffle and I am getting the 30 gig video iPod for Christmas.

1. Which, if any, adapters/chargers/docks can be used with multiple versions of the iPod (both the shuffle and the 30 gig iPod)?

2. What accessories do you think are useful? Chargers? Adapters? Cases? Are there certain cables I need to purchase as well?

3. What kind of case do you have on your iPod? A "skin" like covering or an actual case? (or both?) What brands do you recommend?

4. When exercising/running, what type of holder do you use? The laynard, armband or clip?

5. Where do you find has the best prices on these extras? I have been looking at Apple.com and Best Buy.

I have an iSkin that I got from iSkin.com. I really like it. It has a clip on it, but I wouldn't rely on that if you are running or excercising. I only excercise at the gym so I just put the iPod in a cup holder.

I have a car adapter to plug my iPod in the car (power) and a cassette adapter to listen to it through my tape player.

It comes with a USB adapter to hook into your computer, so you won't need anything else.

Do you have a TiVo? I just saw a program today where you can convert your TiVo files into files to watch on the video iPod.

I have a shuffle, and Apple actually told me not to use anything that wasn't made my Apple, because they have slight changes in them that will make them not preform as well as Apple products.

I know it was probably just trying to get me to buy their stuff, but just what I heard

None, I'm afraid. The Shuffle powers up from your USB port whilst the others use a custom power cable.

2. What accessories do you think are useful? Chargers? Adapters? Cases? Are there certain cables I need to purchase as well?

The charger it comes with is fine; personally, I'd pick an FM transmitter and a little belt-clip case.

3. What kind of case do you have on your iPod? A "skin" like covering or an actual case? (or both?) What brands do you recommend?

I just have a clip that came with my mini. Given experience with the normal iPod, I'd probably just plump for whatever they offer.

Armband, defo.

5. Where do you find has the best prices on these extras? I have been looking at Apple.com and Best Buy.

Apple tend to be the most price-savvy, although eBay may offer some interesting products at good prices; especially look at the "Buy It Now" auctions if you don't want to go through the bidding process.
