Any ideas for a good price for a nano.....im turning into a running geek and need the nano for the Nike Sensor thing that I am wanting.....doesnt need to be new just working and in good condition.

I remember once on these boards seeing a website for refirbished iPods...anyone remember?

Thanks :goodvibes

Does it need to be the newest model (5th generation)? If you can get buy with the 4th generation, there are refurbished nanos on the apple website. The last time I looked (last week) they were $99. Otherwise the 5th generations are pretty much the same price whereever you look, although Walmart might have a bundle.

I bought mine off ebay and got a good price plus I bought a square trade warranty. PM me and I can give you the details if you'd like. :thumbsup2

Im not so stuck on it being 5th generation so much if the 4th does the same things.....i would like to use the NIke Sensor with it which I can on the 4th generation but when i looked online i saw all the things it could do (5th generation) like it now has a pedamator (sp?) so if they can do the same things then great but if not i dont mind spending a bit more for the 5th generation.

Im hoping to get a good black friday deal or something :)

I dont mind either way as long as thye do the same things. refurbished is fine by me! :goodvibes

I have a 4th gen Nano with the Nike+ sensor - LOVE IT! Last week I thought I lost it and ran twice without it. I was researching replacing it when I finally found it (in a file folder at work...I had had a meeting across the street before lunchtime and took the folder in my gym bag...the Nano got into the folder after the run and stayed hidden there!)

Anyway, I had pretty much decided that I was going to go the route of the $99 refurbs on apple.com to replace it with another 4th gen. I looked on Craigslist and wasn't too impressed with the prices out there - $70- $80...not enough of a discount for me to mess around with a private party and no recourse if it didn't work.

Best of luck and enjoy the sensor! Beware, it makes you just a tad bit obsessive! :rolleyes1

I get mine from Amazon. I have bought 4 so far. They are usually a few bucks less and no sales tax or shipping.

right now the 4th generation is $119.00 and the 5th generations is $139.99. This is for the 8gig. I have the 16 gig 4th generation.

Also.. if your into audiobooks especially while running.. you get $100 off the ipod instantly by signing up with audible.com. The info is right on the amazon page with the nanos.

I bought my dd the 16gb 4th gen refurbished from apple.com. I love the fact that the exterior casing, earbuds etc are all brand new and that it comes with the same warranty as a brand new one. The price was great and we have had ours for 7 mos without any probs which is huge for a 7 year old!

Get a refurbed one from Apple.com. Granted mine is 3rd Gen Nano, it's refurbished and hasn't given me any problems through 18 months of ownership. Plus, if you live near an Apple store you can always get tech support from the Genius Bar. :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the info everyone!!! Im really excited to get it all going, just waiting for a good price :)

Check out buy.com or their ebay store. I just ordered a refurbished 5th generation 30 GB iPod Video for $99.

I've ordered refurbished iPods through Apple and haven't had an issue with them.

The Video has more memory than a Nano and the screen size is larger.

I may buy a refurbished one from buy.com for my dd for Christmas. Just do be aware that the warranty is much less than if you buy refurbished one through Apple.
