IPOD Nano help - clearing out info

I got a new IPOD Nano for Mother's Day!

So, my DD is going to inherit my old Nano.

I thought it was as easy as just hitting the reset button to clear everything out.

DH thinks we need to take it into the store to have them clear it all out back to the factory settings.

I have music on there & all of my running workouts from the Nike Plus.

Anyone know if I can clear it all out or do I need to take it to the store?

If I have to take it to the store, any idea on cost?

You should be able to do this on your computer. I think you can highlight everything on the nano (once it's plugged in) and select all and delete.

or you can restore to factory settings but dependsing on how iold the nano is it may not be possible as there have been firmware updates.
