my cd/mp3 player is not playing a cd like I want ( to repeat it ALL the time, its a recording of white noise, that I want to use on vacations, instead of the machine)
sooooooooooo looking online for a replacement I keep getting the mp3 players popping up.

not much into carrying around my music I never looked into one, ( we just took cds/mps & played them in the car player)

so just how exactly user frendly are they? they look so tiney & how the heck do you find 1000+ songs ont hem without spending an hour? & will it work just as i want, to play the SAME music file over & over again?
any recommendations for a basic (inexpensive) model? what about the ones that have video? how do they work?
do they use just any ear phones ( I HATE them painful earbuds). I think I saw a gizmo that it will play on your car stereo?
I really need a dummies guide..
help! :worship:

An iPod nano or touch will do exactly what you want. I don't know so much about the iPod shuffle or any other mp3 players since I don't have experience with them. You just select your track and set it to "repeat". Or you could make a playlist (in iTunes, file > new playlist) and just add your song to it 10 or 20 or 30 or 100 times so it plays through the night.

You can use headphones, earbuds, portable speakers... the player doesn't know a difference. I sleep with earbuds though because I'm afraid of cracking the band on my headphones and got a pair that fit me so they were comfortable. :goodvibes

In regards to having a ton of music -- and this only applies to Apple products -- they're organized pretty intuitively. Genre, artist, song title, album, or just a list of all your songs... you have lots of options for getting to the kind of music you want. I would stay away from anything without a display to minimize frustration.

They are very user friendly, the iPod touches are great in that it is super easy to find anything by searching or browsing. Even if you have thousands of songs, you can find anything in a matter of seconds. I assume you can use reglar headphones on one as long as it is the same size jack (which I am pretty sure they are).
