Please tell me that my son is not the only person who has managed to drop his brand new Ipod into the toilet! :guilty: He ordered a new Mac laptop and the Ipod was a freebie although we have not yet received the rebate on it. We are drying it out for several days with the hope that it will magically come back to life! The kid has a 3.9 GPA out of college but he can't manage to keep an Ipod out of a toilet :lmao:

OH NO! iPod and toilet do not go well together! Hopefully it will come back to life soon!

I think the website is www.macrumors.com They have forums like these. I know I've read there about what to do if the ipod ends up in water, tea, and other liquid items.

Well, I guess we know where that other .1 went. ;)

Amazingly enough, this hasn't happened (yet). But I do wonder how my 13 yr old DS gets through the day sometimes (straight A student too). I keep telling him I'm going to have to go away to college with him.

Good luck with the IPOD!

HA! This reminded me of the SURGEON who dropped his pager in the toilet. So college, med school, internship, residency, surgical fellowship and a pediatric surgical fellowship still didn't stop that sort of thing from happening.

Worst part was, it happened when I worked in the Surgical ICU of Columbus Children's Hospital.....you know, the kinda place where when you need a surgeon you need one NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My dad dropped his cell phone in our sump pump once and after several days of drying, it worked again.

Good luck. :)

My Dean's List College Student Learned that Beer and Laptops don't Mix. That was a very expensive half drunk beer. Still have the LAP TOP in the basement in search of a new mother board. I would say that I-POD is fried.

Yeah - dont turn it on.

I washed my son's iPod. (and somehow him having it in his pocket, and me not checking was COMPLETELY and TOTALLY my fault... )

Anyways - we were patient iPod waiters. One week passed. We switched it on - VOILA!

I couldnt believe it.

Not an iPod, but my daughter dropped not only her cell phone in the toilet but also the battery for her digital camera. WTH. :confused3

shouldn't it be iPEED in the toilet??? :confused3 I'm just saying :teeth:

Mine was dropped in a full bathtub. I came in from jogging, and my DH was finishing giving the boys a bath, I went over to them and was helping to them dry them off, and as I bent over to towel dry my son-- oops.

My ipod was on when it fell in (which is bad), it was still playing but sounded horrible, and I couldn't turn it off. I was really upset, it was bday present from DH and pretty new. After it dried for 5 or 6 hours, I was finally able to turn it off. I kept it off for 3 or 4 days, and turned it back on, and it was fine!!!! Been using it for months since that happened-- no problems at all (I was amazed!!!!)

Oh no! Here's hoping it dries out.

Not a toilet mishap, but once in a restroom, I had my purse in the crook of my arm, as I reach across the sink for paper towel, the motion activated sink turned on and filled up my purse!!! Totally fried my brand new, cute flip phone. DH couldn't believe it.

I'll share my semi-related cell phone story for a laugh. I had been on my cell phone and needed to go the bathroom so I shoved my phone in the pocket of my hoodie. All of a sudden there's my nice cell phone swimming in the toliet. I did reach in and get it then let it dry out like they suggest you do. But in the end because the toliet wasn't clean water it didn't work again.

But my sister dropped her phone in clean water and the next day it was working again.

I have a friend who used to call on "gentlemen's clubs" and dropped two different cell phones in the toilets there. I don't think he even tried to get them to work again. :crazy2: The funny thing was that the electronics were still functioning, but the top wouldn't stay on. ;)

I washed my dd's iPod two weeks ago, accidently. We just got it to work today. Keep it turned off and wait. We waited until the rainbow, from the dampness, to dry up on the little window and now it works great. She was able to restore it to factory settings and then she even updated it.
