Ipod HELP!!

My daughter absolutely LOVES music, so we got her a 120gig Ipod classic. Now, the thing suddenly stops transferring music in. Last time she tried to put music in, it transferred all of the music out and onto her computer - then wouldn't take it back. We've tried everything, and we don't want to spend money on a new one. Anybody got any ideas how to make this thing work right again?

Have you tried to set it up for manual transferring? See if you can transfer something over. Then go from there.

Assuming you are using iTunes, it definitely sounds like something is checked wrong in the syncing choices. When you attach the iPod to sync, there is a Music Tab as one of the choices - it's possible that the checkbox to sync Music has gotten unchecked, or something similar to that. That would keep any of the music from syncing onto the iPod.

I agree, it sounds like a syncing issue...

I would also maybe try resetting the ipod to factory settings, that may help

OP, I just looked up synching in my copy of the iPod and itunes for Dummies. I checked for a description of the problem you describe and was unable to find it. The author of the for Dummies book gave a link for updated troubleshooting instructions at: http://www.apple.com/support/ipod

I had a similar problem with podcasts...and yes it was a "syncing" issue. Did the software change recently? (over the last one or two iterations?)
