Iphone - DISboard issues

I view the DIS on my iPhone and iPad (right now) through Safari, and not an app. No problems.

Loaded DISboard app again today only to be redirected to App Store again. If I don't close down App Store fast enough I have to reopen and reload DISboard.

It's been happening to me also - just as I started reading this thread, as a matter of fact. It's like a pop-up that sends me to the App Store. I don't even have to be touching the screen for it to happen.

I've had the same issue on my phone. I do think it's related to the ads on the bottom of the page - I noticed that when it occurs, when I go back to the DIS app, the ad seems to be a link rather than an image. It's pretty consistent, too - I've only had 2 different apps linked (Uber and something else I can't recall) - but it's highly annoying since it seems to happen 2-3 times before I can stay on the DIS app!

If this continues, I'll start using the webpage instead. The app it just so convenient and much better formatted for mobile!

Yep. Happened to me every time I tried to use the app on my phone this morning. Not sure which is more annoying - the auto redirect to the app store on the app or the loud ads which used to play on the website randomly and without notice.

Honest question from a new smart phone user. Why not just use the browser on your phone and just skip the app?
I have the DIS APP on my Android, and it seems to work fine, but just using the browser and going straight to the regular website seems better.
Same with every APP I have tried, I just as soon go to the web site through a browser. Thanks.

If you use it often, the full site is cumbersome and difficult. And pops up ads to have you use the app anyway. When it works the app is much better IMO.


But I haven't had the same issues as the others have.

I have had the same issue using the full website through safari on my iPhone and my iPad. So, I don't think it is really related to the app as such (which I find cumbersome and not good to use at all).

Has anyone tried to email the DIS and ask about it? There is a contact link at the bottom of the page. Might be more effective than chatting about it here on the cruise line board.

I was hoping they(those in charge of website maintenance) would use this thread as a way to isolate and remove the problem with all of our examples. I've been on for 30 minutes now today and I have just been kicked off. There wasn't even an ad insight!
Just opened a thread and as I scrolled to see more (no ad there but) changed over to App Store. GRRR

There are already several threads about this issue on the Technical Support Forum, and I haven't seen any answers on any of them. There was a suggestion to add restrictions on the Apple store, but it's a bandaid, and applies to your whole phone.

I agree with this. Most sites have a mobile version, or I just go to the normal link on the browser. A lot of the app versions of these websites are very limited and don't function well.

Its not just an iPhone issue. I have an android and havent been able to access the app all day. Says there is a problem with the browser

Tami I haven't had much trouble with access to the website. But when I did I couldn't get on Facebook or any of my other apps either it was just taking too long for everything to load. As an android customer do you find your system will automatically, and for no apparent reason, take you into an App store as use view a thread? Any Android have this?

My iPhone kept doing this to me yesterday. I thought I was doing something wrong…it was making me crazy! Glad I'm not the only one!

Just got an iPhone 8.1.1 update for 4S(that's me, I am waiting for the Mophie charger to hit market before I make the change.) let's see if it helps.

Well that didn't help. Went to read about bug bites on the eastern and went right over to App Store. Sad Face.

The remote server sent an unknown response. This could be a result of the forum software plugin being outdated or having a conflict.

Is anyone else getting a similar message. Are the moderators taking steps to correct this?

I got that error message on my android app as well and finally just gave up and uninstalled it. I was previously getting the log in error as well. so annoying!

Been sent to App Store 2X in less than 25 seconds. Not even apps that are listed as advertisers.

I don't understand what is going on. My iPhone keeps opening up App Store while I am reading the posts on DISboard's. I'm not touching ANYTHING or making weird movements. I just want to relax and read a little, post a little maybe I have a NYE cruise coming up soon. This keeps up and I'm just going to watch TV to relax.

I still has issues when I logged on. But only when I first opened the app. The apps that I'm being sent to are certainly not anything a DISborder would be interested in. I feel your pain.
