I am stuck and not sure what to do. When connecting the ipad2 to my pc there was a software update. 4.3.3 to 4.3.5. So after dowloading 3 times the same error pops up. There was a problem downloading the software for the Ipad. The network connection timed out. I thought maybe itunes needs to be on my ipad2 and it still timed out. My wifi connection is on. So anything else I can do?

I am the least technically-savvy person I know. The carpet will know more than I will, generally. :)

But I have encountered that message before. Not with my iPad (if I were superstitious I'd worry that I jinxed myself there), but I've seen it before.

If just re-trying what I'd tried doesn't work (which it usually does), I just re-do the computer - I forget what they call it - turn it off and on. That usually works for me.

You will get a better response, I am sure.

Good luck! :)

I've had this same problem with both my iphone and my ipad. I looked it up online and what I found said that I needed to make sure I had the latest version of itunes, so I tried that...didn't fix it. Then it said I needed to uninstall and re-install itunes, so I tried that and it still didn't fix it. I've just given up. My laptop is dying a slow death and I'm in the process of transitioning over to a new one. I'm hoping that will solve the problem.

Normally I would tell someone something unhelpful here like get rid of that overpriced paperweight and get yourself a real tablet. But I see you need help.

Reboot both the iPad and your wifi router/modem. Once they are both fully back online then try again. If it still acts up try uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes. If that does not work then you need to go to your public library (or McDonalds, wherever you can get hooked up to a different Wifi signal) and try it there. You may be getting an intermittent signal from your personal wifi router or modem.
