Ipad portable or wireless charger

Just got a new Ipad gen 6 and for some reason I am having difficulty getting it to charge via anything but a wall outlet. I am assuming the usb port on the cable box and the computer I am using are not powerful enough to charge it, so I would like to purchase both a portable and wireless charger that will work. I have a samsung portable for my galaxy s9, but the ipad is not recognizing it either. Am I doing something wrong, or is there a specific type of portable charger I need to buy...or is my ipad faulty?
