Which one do you have and what do you use it for? I know what they can do, I'm just curious what people really do witht them.

Any regrets?

Thanks!!

I LOVE mine!

I got the top of the range 64GB + 3G model and it is awesome! I listen to music loads on it, watch TV episodes and browse the internet (excellent web browser included.) I've also recently began reading iBooks on it (2001 is an excellent book; just sayin' :) )

I did have one hitch though. My brother stepped on it and the screen went bonkers. Thankfully though, this is Apple we're talking about. I took it in to the shop, to the Genius Bar and they gave me a brand spanking new one free of charge, no questions asked.

I seriously couldn't recommend it enough.

Plus, Apple are about to release a free MAJOR system update for it, so you can multitask (listen to music whilst writing eMails etc) and print wirelessly.

No regrets. I mainly got it for reading, but have ended up using it to catch up on things through the internet. It's nice too that I don't have to kick the kids off the computer when I need it and deal with the arguing. It's also portable entertainment for both them and me.

As soon as printing capabilities come (and it's on its way, I believe), I think they will replace laptops.

ETA: I have an original one.

Are you watching TV Episodes on the internet or Itunes. If the internet, any buffering issues?

I have the 32G Wifi= $599.00 I believe its the middle one of the three. DH bought it for me back in June. There are 3 models.

ABSOLUTELY love it!!!

I also have the original. I got it as a reader, and I totally agree with everything above!

I got the top of he line WiFi one for hubby for Father's Day. He loves it and uses it constantly!

DH and I both have iPads. He uses his mostly as a reader and as an internet connection when he travels. I use mine for music, games, internet, and my favorite use is streaming Netflix while I'm on the treadmill. Movies and TV shows make the time fly by.

My husband has the top model (64GB) and he loves it. He travels quite a bit for business, and really likes using it on the plane. He finds it much easier to watch movies on, as opposed to his laptop (takes up too much space, especially when the person in front of him reclines their seat) or his iPhone (screen is pretty small to view movies on).

I'm not sure what else he uses it for, but I would guess some business stuff. I'll have to ask him.:)

Me, I use it to play skeeball!:rotfl: In fact, we're both kind of addicted to the skeeball game.:rotfl:

Luv, do you play "Words With Friends"!!! Now that's a blast and addicting!! It's just like scrabble only by "Newtoy"!! Look for the app, they are currently offering it FREE to Ipad owners!! Then we can friend each other and play!!!!!!!

I brought my husband the middle model. He loves it! He uses it for everything and hasn't gone near his desk top since I gave it to him in September. I'm hoping I get one for Christmas.

I downloaded the the nook on it and it's great for reading books.

No regrets at all.

I have the 32g WiFi. It is amazing and I have NO regrets. I use it for reading (even though I have a Sony EReader), books, magazines, newspapers, you name it. I have my music on it (even though I have an Ipod touch), watch TV episodes, YouTube, and the Apps, Oh MY the apps. I am addicted to SEVERAL! Anyhow, use it just like a laptop/ereader/ipod touch! And, No I do not regret it AT ALL. I LOVE IT!

I have the 64GB 3G model an n I love it. I use it for email, web surfing, games, FaceBook, reading news sites such as CNN and NPR, newspapers and magazines.

I have replaced almost every single one of my paper magazine subscriptions with the digital version. Just waiitng for The New Yorker to come to its senses and figure out I won't pay $4.99 per weekly issue for a magazine I subscribe to in paper form for less than forty bucks per year.

I do use it as an ereader sometimes if my Kindle is not handy, but it is much heavier than my Kindle so I don't like it as much.

LOVE mine, too. I have hardly set it down since I got it in June. I have the 32G 3G+wifi version. I check email, surf the web, play games, read books (I have ibooks, stanza, and kindle apps, have bought e-books all sorts of places.) I watch movies and tv shows while working out on the treadmill, its awesome. When I'm not using it, my kids are, so its pretty much constantly in use. And the battery life is amazing, I have never yet run out of battery before bedtime, I plug it in each night and its good to go every day.

Can someone please tell me how you watch tv shows on it? Do they cost money? Also, can you type a document on it? Does it have word? Someone mentioned wireless printing- is that a for sure thing and do you need to buy your printer from apple? I really think Santa might have to bring our family this so I can use it.

Could someone also explain the 3 models? How do you know which one to buy?

I am sure someone will come on and explain it all to you but really your best bet is to stop into APPLE and have one of the Tech's explain it all to you. :thumbsup2

We did this back in June; just on a whim. We really had only read very briefly that this new device called an IPAD was out.

Off to Apple we go. We spent close to an hour with the Tech. This was on a Sunday back in June when the Ipad had just hit the shelves and as crazy as the store was, the Tech took all the time in the world answering all our questions, showing us each one of the Ipads.

We wanted to talk more ourselves. No problem at all the Tech said. We went next door to Panera's, had lunch and decided we wanted to get it.

Back to APPLE and our Tech is at lunch. We got another Tech who completely got us all set up.

It was fabulous service. We are thrilled with it.
