iPad owners? do you miss having a real keyboard?

contemplating iPad purchase...do any of you iPad owners wish you had bought the Macbook Air instead since it has a real keyboard?

I will probably wait for the rumored 2nd generation model.

iPod touch users...is this really a useful "tool" or just a really neat gadget?

My sister has one of these. I think she bought it for some other Apple product she has and it works great with her Ipad.

Don't miss the keyboard one bit. I can type pretty quickly with my pointer fingers now.

You can add on a keyboard. DH got me one, but I never use it since it kind of defeats the purpose of the iPad being easily portable.

Well, personally I have an iPad, a Macbook, a netbook, and a desktop computer and they each serve a purpose. You need to keep in mind that the iPad is really a large iPod and not a computer. It won't do certain things, can't open certain websites, etc., but has some fabulous fun aps and is really great for traveling because it's light and fits in room safes. I upload pics to it every night when on vacation, and also have put videos on it, and of course music. So instead of traveling with the netbook or Macbook and portable DVD player and iPod, I just take the iPad. It's convenient like that. I do not like the lack of a keyboard, but for what it is, it's certainly not bad. I'm pretty sure I posted on this site several times with it. The iPad doesn't replace an actual computer, though, but it is fun and convenient to travel with.

I use my ipod touch ALL the time! it's my calendar, I use it almost like a zip drive to carry files with me (and I can access them without a computer), I use it for email on the go (anytime I can get wi-fi), I check facebook and email first thing in the morning without getting out of bed. I think it actually saves me time. I use it for lists and notes. Checking something out online without having to open up the computer.
And I have a touch screen semi-smart phone (i can get online, make notes, etc) but I MUCH prefer my ipod touch for everything except making phone calls. I depend on it and it goes everywhere with me just like my cell phone.
