Does anyone know of any good apps/programs to use on an ipad with a 15m for the plane ride. We flying out with the little one in July and were looking at some things to keep her occupied on the flight.

We've read a bit on this and some suggestions are to have new toys dished out at regular intervals. Snacks etc... we thougth of movies or something to watch, but were not sure about ear phones with a little one.

Fisher price has a few laugh and learn apps which aren't bad. Also my DD 20 months loves this monkey lunchbox app. It teaches counting and matching.

I've hesitated saying this because so many people on these boards are adamant about headphones when I read about earphones for little ones on a plane, but two times now I've had kids sitting in front or back of us watching a movie or maybe playing a handheld game without headphones and I ever heard the sound. I think if it's kept kind of quiet with the sound of the plane it can't be heard by those around.

Elmo loves ABC's is great ($4), our DD loves peekaboo pets (free), First words sampler (free) and the PBS app (free). Hope that helps a little.

Believe me, most people can hear when the volume on devices is on and headphones are not used. This is extremely rude; the sound should be off or use headphones. There are several models available which fit toddlers.

Gosh, sitting next to my son on a plane, if I can't hear what he's watching, I can be sure no one else around us can either. He has some sensory issues, and NOTHING will go on his head.

To answer the OP - the Sesame Street apps are all good. Monster at the End of the Book is a classic, and Elmo loves ABCs is wonderful as well. For something silly, you can try any of the bubble popper apps, or Fireworks lite. Have a fun flight, and dont' worry about if people around you can hear her apps - they'd probably rather hear that than a screaming toddler. :thumbsup2

Don't forget that you can load movies/tv shows as well. I would try to find some flascards of animals/pictures, things that you can teach them. DS does better if it is more interacive aka parent involvement. Good luck!

Since we're on this topic....we're flying with our 15 month old twins. Im 100%certain we're going to need to entertain them with videos. Are there options of headphones for toddlers that split that have 2 sets of headphones to use with just 1 ipad ? Otherwise I'm at a loss for what to do.....

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
