Ipad Case?

Does anyone have a good suggestion for an Ipad case? I have an Ipad2 on the way and I know I will need a good case for it but there are so many different ones out there. I have heard of the Otterbox ones but have heard good and bad and I think they are quite expensive?

Anyone have one they like and if so can you tell me where you got it?

I love my roocase! I bought it on amazon for about $20. It Is leather and it has the flap in back where you can tilt the iPad for streaming movies, shows, etc. It also has the magnetic cover that puts the iPad to "sleep" when you close it to save battery.

ETA: I see they are between $25-30 now. I bought mine in August. Still worth it in my opinion!

I have a smart cover on my iPad 2, but I also keep it in a slide-in neoprene case I picked up for $5 at Five Below. It's great - padded enough to protect, but thin and light. The smart cover keeps the screen from getting scratched, and the case gives me peace of mind for it getting banged around in the glove box or my backpack. Best $5 I spent on my iPad!

I bought a Zagg Folio Case which has a wireless keyboard for the iPad. I LOVE it.

I have a speck (?) case from Target. I wanted to be able to actually see what I was buying which is why I didn't buy online. It was maybe $25.

Works, too. I dropped the ipad and chipped the case a bit but the ipad itself is fine!

I have the Targus 360 rotating case. I love it because it protects the front and back and you can stand it on its long side or short side. Most cases just stand one way or the other. I like standing it on the long side for movies, but on the short side when playing words with friends. Check out the video on Amazon.

This is similar to the one I bought for mine last January and it going strong. The price I paid was under $7 too! Not pretty, but keeps it safe and clean. I've even dropped it once or twice on carpeted floor and had no injury.

So overall what is the feeling on having the keyboard? I do not have an iphone and I am not used to touchscreens. Will I pick it up pretty quickly or will I be wishing I got one with a keyboard?

I'm wondering the same thing. I was looking at a Kijiji deal for the SmartCover ($25), but that Zagg looks pretty impressive! I like the detail design Oberon has, but the keyboard with the Zagg..

I have a Switcheasy Canvas and highly recommend. It completely covers the IPad, including plugs for the ports to keep dust out. Works as a nice stand as well as has the "sleep" feature in the cover.

I also LOVE the customer service at Switcheasy. My "shell" has small cracks on two of the corners. Nothing serious at all and still holds up fine. I sent them a quick e-mail asking what the warranty was on this case. 2 hours later I had a tracking number with a brand new case in the mail! No charge...nothing. I have the new one sitting on a shelf and when my current one goes I have the backup ready!

That being said, I've really monitored how I use the iPad and I'm starting to lean towards what this poster does and will probably try it out after Xmas:

While I love the fact that the Switcheasy Canvas completely protects the iPad, it does add bulk and it kind of defeats the purpose of having a thin iPad.

I have an ipad2 and after a few minor scratches with my leather case from kids using it, I decided to get an Otterbox Reflex case. I LOVE it! The front cover doubles as a stand and it is very sturdy.

I also have the keyboard and love that too. When I go to type something without it, the on screen keyboard takes up half the screen! With the keyboard, I still have the whole screen to work with and it is really not that far off from a small laptop this way.

The iPad isn't really meant to be stood up vertically not docked - I would be a little apprehensive about a case that did this.
