iPad 2 question

My dh bought me an iPad 2 for my birthday (I asked for new towels) anyway, my kids would like to Skype with a family member but I am not sure how.

If I use FaceTime, can I Skype? Does it cost money? Does the other person need to use an iPad also?

facetime is free. but only ipad and iphones can do it.

I skype with my macbook pro. It has a builtin camera that is used to allow the person on the other end to see you. I'm guessing the Ipad 2 would work the same way. Go to skype.com and download the application and it will guide you through it. Believe me, I am no computer expert and I figured it out. Both of you have to register and have a skype name.
