Iodine Stains in Carpet

My 3 year old got into our first aid kit and found a new bottle of iodine which he figured out how to open and then get all over his carpet. Any suggestions as to how to get it out? The carpet is cream colored.

If the "Oxy2" type carpet cleaner dosn't work , I would give the stains names and adopt them.

Try hydrogen peroxide on them.
