IOA: What would you like to see next?

Thanks to Potter, IOA is finally getting the attention it always deserved (in my opinion). It's pretty much a given that there will be an expansion to Potter at some point, but what do you feel the park needs? Curious of others opinions. For me, I'd like them to take what they've learned and step up the other islands a notch. Add a few touches here and there theme wise. Example, just a few thematic elements added to the Hulk, such as buildings for Hulk to smash thru. Or on Dragons challenge, some rock work or castle spires for the coasters to circle.
Ideas?

Would love to see a "haunted house" theme ride and an indoor coast ride. Both could be built into the WWOHP expansion. In place of the Sinbad Stunt show, the Shrieking Shack haunted house ride and replacing Poseidon's Fury, the Gringotts Wizarding Bank indoor coast ride. :cool1:

I would really like them to re-design the whole "Dragon's Challenge" ride. Leave the tracks as it is, but change something & re-do the theme. Every time I walk through the queue I am amazed at how almost nothing is new, it is still Duelling Dragons to me. With all the money Universal has surely they would have invested something in this.

I know it was something that was must modified to fit; but they could at least make it feel like it isn't. Of course as time goes on & more new guests, they would never know the difference. :-)

It's the only real thing that annoys me about what otherwise is a great park.

I would like to see a quality family ride without water.

I agree. I was think of a very family friendly dark ride for Harry Potter, maybe based on the tale of the three brothers and the deathly hallows that you see in the 7th movie. Can't remember the name of the story though. Awesome if you could actually get J.k Rowling to narrate it as well.

I think a Forbidden Forest ride of some sort would be very cool.

More Harry Potter related rides. a sorting hat attraction where they could ask before hand which house the individual would like to be picked( it does take personal choices into consideration after all) If no preference it would then select.More lands. And I know it would never happen but I would love a Star Wars land, a Star Trek land, or a Lord of the Rings land, better yet all three.

I think IOA is on its way thanks to HP. I would love to see an entire SpongeBob Bikini Bottom themed area with jelly fish fields, Krusty Krab dinning, like the Dr. Suess area in IOA, but in US. Really like updated King Kong ride back at US Florida as well. JMHO.:thumbsup2

Is a good idea. I mean, a Winnie the Pooh style ride for Sponge bob would be easy. Or even a ride like Toy story mania.

As for Harry Potter...a ride for families could be done pretty easily. I mean, you could center it around Hogwarts, etc. The WWoHP has a lot of potential.

Kind of hope they redo the Spiderman ride once the new movie comes out, and definitely consider using the Avengers movie as a take off as well. With the success of Captain America, Thor, and even X-men, they simply have not even scratched the surface of what you could do with that.

I'd like to see a full serve restaurant in Harry Potter World. I also expect an expansion of WWoHP but I hope that they somehow incorporate the talking fountain into it. And of course Mythos!

As for the rest of the park, I think that the Superhero Island could stand some better theming. If Universal plans to keep the Marvel heroes then a place themed to look like a city would be cool. You know a Gotham City look. (I know, not Marvel.) They could do something better to represent the X-Men than Storm's lame ride.

The other lands are pretty good. Jurassic Park maybe could use some kind of attraction. Hmmmm....

I agree. Recently been thinking it would be cool if they could move just one of the triceratops from the discovery trail along one of the pathways in a small shed, and then they could just turn it into a small little pathside show ( as long as the path is wide enough to be able to dodge gawkers if you don't want to watch). Give the shed a garage door and a "containment cell" theme like it's a check up area for their nearby paddock, and when it's show time just open up the door. That way the trikes are no longer just a seasonal thing, and by moving the trikes out, you open up that land for something new.
JP altogether could use a few theming touches as well just to add to the realism a bit more. Maybe something that causes the trees along the fenceline to rustle with some dino noises. Maybe sirens and flashing lights every now and then because the fences are failing. Small details to make it just a bit more immersive.

I also agree with this. One thing I didn't like about IoA was that there wasn't a whole lot that everyone in my family could ride other than the Seuss Trolley Ride. Cat in the Hat would have been good for everyone except for the spinning.

The rustling and sirens sound great but I suppose that they could scare little kids. Maybe there could be a separate pathway with some of that activity? I find the area next to and in front of the Discovery Center wasted too. I know that the Triceratops Encounter is still back there but it never seems to be open.

Jurassic Park needs a Jeep Adventure style ride. Which would utilise the same technology as Pooh's Hunny Hunt at Tokyo Disneyland - BUT the GPS random movements would not feature on the ride vehicles, but instead feature on the animatronics.

So the jeep would move along like on an omnimover system (not with a real driver like Rhino Rally) but guests would never encounter the same ride twice, as the animatronic dinos would run in different directions and at different times compared to the last time those guests rode it.

The whole ride would be indoors but themed to look like an upscale Jurassic Park version of E.T.'s queue line, with the jeeps driving through a slightly bumpy terrain looking at a few tranquil exhibits (see a pattern here with River Adventure?) before you hear over the radio coms that Dennis has stolen the veliciraptor embryo, and you must go in search of him to recover that important DNA!

As you twist and turn through the forested enclosures, the animatronic dinosaurs will give you a few suprises! But like I said, every ride would be different. No two rides the same.

Cool idea. HP :thumbsup2 Just wondering if they would have enough room in the JP area for that kind of ride.
