IOA on HHN nights

How are the crowds at IOA on days when HHN is happening at US? We have young kids so attending HHN is not an option.
Trying to figure out which days to hit each park & Oct seems to be the best for us to visit, specifically Columbus weekend.

ioa closes at 7 pm.
the studios close at 5 then reopen at 6:30 for hhn.

You won't see a huge increase of people on those days since HHN is taking place in a different park. Most people who are coming for HHN arrive at the Studios in the afternoon so you will have more people at the Studios than IOA. You should be fine to do IOA on whichever day fits your schedule.
