:wave2: Hi everyone,

We're having an Intimate Wedding with a guest list of about 15 total. I've been looking at invitation ideas and I noticed they only sell them in quantities of 25 and above. Does anyone have any ideas regarding other options for invitations? I've seen software that lets you create your own greeting cards..do they have the same thing for invitations? Any ideas would be appreciated. I still want them to look elegant and professional...just not pay several hundred dollars for them.

Also, are intimate weddings considered part of DFTW?

Thanks!

Hello reese5574 :wave2:

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. :bride:

Faced with the same dilemma months ago, I decided to purchase blank wedding invitations from Target. They have a nice variety of different colors, designs and backgrounds to choose from for $19.95 for a box of 50. The invitation kit includes: the invitation card stock paper, envelopes, response cards and envelopes. Also, depending upon which type of invitation you purchase you may also get: ribbon, vellum paper overlay and etc.

The only thing that you need is MS Word or some type of word processing program to type the wording, then you just print onto the invitation paper.

Target also has program paper, which I have used to create my personalized programs for my intimate wedding and my home reception the week after.

I must admit that they look professional and saved me hundreds of dollars.

Hope this helps. Also, since I still had an abundance of paper left, I used the extra response cards to make my own personalized Disney save-the-date cards.

Thank you so much for the well-wishes. I am SO excited about our Disney wedding. What you did with the Target invites sound like it's exactly what I'm looking for. Did you end up doing a Disney theme? We are going to have a NY based reception a couple of months after our wedding for our family/friends who will not be in Florida so I'm guessing I can use the remaining invites for that. Thank you again!

No problem! Glad that I could help.

I actually purchased the Pearl Swirls invitations and kept the traditional wording. However, near the bottom I typed "Cake and Champagne Reception immediately following" in the Disney font.

Visit: http://www.target.com/gp/browse.html/602-8815962-2735823?%5Fencoding=UTF8&node=13601431 you can see the different designs that they offer. They aren't that visible as the web page is white and most of the invitations are white/ivory, but you can get some type of idea.

Also, the very last item on the page: The Black and Ivory 2-sided program is the one that I used as programs. It is more like a pearlized gold, very pretty.

Thank you thank you thank you! These are exactly what I had in mind. What I like the best is I can have two different invitations from the same kit...the Disney wedding and the NY one. Thank you again and best wishes to you! :flower:

If you want something unique, a girl named JennyCee is on this board. She is a graphic artist and has put together some really really awesome things for me. You might want to check her out. I can send you examples of what she did for me if you pm me your email. I am really really happy with it!

michaels & target sell alot of diy wedding invitation kits that you can do on your own computer. i would check out their selections. we bought a kit for $20 & are using it for our wedding programs.

If you like the idea of handmade invitations you could check out Stampin' Up vendors in your area. A friend of mine does this, she will either make them for you in your requested quantity, you can host a party to make them or just order the stamps and do it yourself. The catalogs have lots of great ideas. I do know that my friend will make and sell them - if interested please PM me an idea of what you are looking for and I can get it to her. She will usually make a sample and then quote prices...

If you're at all handy with assembling and printing, http://www.paper-source.com/ has some gorgeous invitation kits. The kits all seem to be in packs of 50, but you can look over their kits and then order the components separately. For instance, this gorgeous invitation is $62 for 50, but you could buy enough components to make 25 for $46.55, 10.80 of which is for the ribbon, which you could buy at any craft store for much less. Unfortunately, most of the cards and sashes only come in packs of 25, so the number I came up with was for 25 invites, for fifteen the amount would be $40.30, but with leftover materials.

And now I'll go back to lurking in this forum. (I'm not getting married any time in the foreseeable future, but if I ever do, I want to be a Disney bride!)

I'm using Paper Source. I just got engaged last week in Epcot (by the waterfalls in Canada). I got back into town Friday night and Sunday morning my mother and aunt called me and I met them at Paper Source. We're doing the square folder ones.

My aunt is very handy and even has a bone folder (whatever that is) already. I love them! Can't wait!

I highly recommend Paper Source, they are very friendly and knowledgeable and they have everything you could need. And like Jenelope said, you don't have to buy the kit, you can just buy the amount of paper you will need. But, you do have to be pretty handy.

Thank you so much to everyone for their wonderful insights and ideas. As usual, I've gotten some great advice. :flower:
JonetteA - thank you for the samples...they're beautiful! I'll definitely contact Jenny regarding more information.

Thank you again everyone! :earsgirl:

No problem! I loved what she did for us. Even my H2B loved them...hard to believe, that a non-Disney nut would come to love Disney, maybe not as much as me...yet.

jonette - has JennyCee posted a forum for her invites or is it just ask her basis. I went to Impressions and fell in love with some of their custom invites but they were so much money!!! :earseek: Now I am looking elsewhere.
