My daughter is having ceremony at the WP and reception at Ariels.

We pretty much went with Disney Floral during the planning session last month but just recently started chatting with Shelley from Impressions. She is really quick to respond and seems very in-tune with my daughter's ideas/visions of table cards, favors and wedding invitations. My daughter wants a custom wedding invitation not the stock ones she's been finding that are disney-related.

Anyone use Impressions (Shelley) and were happy with results? So far I like her better than who we dealt with from Disney Floral. Just seem to be clicking more? Not sure what prices are like with Impressions.
Thanks

Shelley does the work for Disney - any place cards, some of the favors, and the table signs you saw at the planning session with the Disney florist were work done by Shelley and impressions. She can do the characters because Disney authorizes her designs. She charges a licensing fee for any character design/Disney image you want to use. She also does the white chocolate castle cake toppers that are on the displayed cakes at Franck's.

The work she does is custom, and it is beautiful, but VERY expensive. We used impressions for our STDs, and paid $750 for 75 of them. For pocket style invites the quote was over $1200 (without assembling the invite to the pocket, that costs extra) for 75. Way more than I wanted to spend. When I asked for scaled down options, I got two lackluster mock ups and we parted ways. Overall the quality of our STDs was fine, but probably not worth the price, we could have gotten the same one from the vendor we used for our invitations for 1/3 of the price, and I liked the quality of our invites much better.

Very informative mb187143, thanks! That is pricey!!!! I suppose I will be finding this out soon enough. Nothing on our BEO indicated Impressions or Shelley per say. It's says Disney Floral & Gifts so I thought these were two separate entities. I know my daughter wants something with a little bit more of a disney feel (particularly Nemo charaters).
I better buckle-up for these invitation prices.

Yep and it won't say anything about Impressions if you order the items through Disney. Disney floral will work with Shelley directly. I know she does the place cards and table signs and the chocolate favors, you can see samples of that work on her website.

If your daughter is looking for something custom, Shelley is really the only one who can do the Disney characters - she had a lot of different invitation styles on we website. If you ask for samples she'll send you some and pricing sheets so you can look at her options. I wasn't going to pay 1200 for 75 invitations, but I've seen some of her really custom work and I think she's at her best when her creative juices are flowing.

If you're going to use her you should get started sooner than later, we ordered our save the dates on November 1 and didn't get them until the end of January.

We used Shelley and we loved her and he assistant!

We did Mickey head fan programs and menu cards and personalized cocktail napkins...and table cards for our at-home reception...

She was prices, but I thought it was worth the splurge...

Thank you!!! I'm glad we're starting now then! I suppose you have to purchase invitations in lots of 50, 75, 100 etc? We are having about 50 guests but some are families/couples so we really only need like 30-35 invitations?
I will pass on this info to my daughter.

Thanks for sharing!!!!
I posted my daughter's BEO in the "share your budget" thread. We didn't realize we were already working with Shelley when we ordered the chocolate favors. It's a touch my daughter doesn't want to skip but they are pricey.

Technically, as far as the chocolate favors, you're not... You're working with Disney. Disney is working with Shelley :). They're doing some of that leg work for you, and had I not already seen them on Shelley's site and known she was doing them I wouldn't have thought to ask our planner if they were Shelley's work (the ones we saw at our PS). Our planner confirmed that and said they've worked with her for something like 14 or 15 years and that she's a preferred vendor for them. So you're in good hands with her. Just make sure you give yourselves plenty of time for designing and mock ups and production.

If you have the money to splurge, it's a really really nice touch. You don't have to order the place cards or table signs or programs through Disney floral if you want to use Shelley but I don't think there's a price advantage to going through her directly as opposed to ordering through floral. At least there wasn't last year...

Thanks for all your input. So now that we're working directly with Shelley, I assume we will pay her---or does she add it to the BEO do you know? Sorry for all the questions.

Anything you order through Disney (whether they make it or Shelley does) will be on you budget and you pay Disney. Anything you order directly through Shelley you pay Shelley directly (she'll have a payment form).

If you order place cards and table signs through Shelley, she may ship them to you and you'll have to provide them to the planner for he set up team to set out - Disney will set out 2 items per place setting for free - and after that they charge an hourly fee. Just something to keep in mind.

Very good point! Thanks!

We used Shelley for a lot of items for our vow renewal last year and I plan on using her again for another event in the near future. Her work is amazing and totally worth what she charges. I did do some DIY items for some of our events, but she easily worked with them, so everything looked amazing. Typically she does not ship "day-of" items to you, she usually goes and sets them up herself or delivers them to the people who are setting up.

You can't go wrong with Shelley. She was one of the best decisions we made.

We are very excited to see her work and I really appreciate everyone's input! Yes, Shelley's assistant is very nice and helpful too :)
