Well, first off, got a new hard drive today, which has a ton more memory. Everything is running at lightning speed, and now I have Google Chrome ♥ on this computer and MS Office 2007.

AAAAAAAnd, the really big thing that happened today:
My creative writing teacher, stunned at how many of us still treasure the Disney movies we grew up with, has decided to sack the next novel reading we were supposed to do and spend the rest of the year working on developing a story to pitch to Disney for a movie. One of her daughter's friends was on the writing team for PatF, so we have a connection. DDD

it's just so weird that she threw that out there today (well, we kind of wouldn't shut up about Disney movies) and it's like she read my mind or I did an inception on her after my realizing how badly I wanted to write a Disney movie over the break.

That's pretty awesome. Obviously, it would have to be an orignal story, because Disney aren't making fairy tale movies anymore...

Well, maybe we can change their mind. They've even corrected that article. They're not permanently stopping fairy tales.

And I just got the Tangled soundtrack. Wheeee!

They did? That's good, because I found a fairy tale that I think would make an awesome Disney animated movie. Here's the plot synopsis that I wrote. I would say the name of the fairy tale, but pretty much an amalgam of different fairy tales which have a similar plot, but different events occur in each one. The one I was looking at when writing it down was called The Water Of Life.

Dying king learns of a spring that can cure him, and orders his sons to fetch the water. Along the way, the two eldest brothers are incapacitated somehow (this story says they angered a dwarf, who trapped them in ravines. I've seen a better version where the brothers are distracted by the comforts of a village along the way, or something like that), and leave the youngest one to continue. I guess he could meet up with some heroine along the way, who he doesn't really like at first (but she knows the way so can't ditch her), but learns to love her, just like in most movies like this. That, or he meets a goofy yet loveable sidekick (most likely a talking animal, but a human is optional) who knows the way and tags along with him, who is at first annoying, but they become best friends by the end of the movie. Anyway, they reach the palace where the springs are located, and something actiony happens here. I would say a dragon fight, but that's too cliche... Hmm... Maybe they have to fight an evil tapir. That's different. But not very threatening... They're not big either. I doubt they'd exist in Medieval Europe as well. What about an evil unicorn? That's also different. Anyway, they defeat this mythical creature. If you've gone the sidekick path, then this monster was also guarding a princess, who thanks the prince for getting rid of the monster. Obviously, it's love at first sight, and she says she will marry him after helping your father, or something. He get the water from the spring and heads back to the castle, maybe with the princess. Along the way, he meets up with his brothers, who are jealous that he got the water before them, and whilst the young prince is sleeping, they switch the spring water with ordinary water. When they get back to the king, the young prince gives the fake water to him, and the brothers call him out, and make up a lie where he just got the water from a local lake and not from this spring. The two brothers then give the real spring water to the king, who is instantly healed. The king, angered at the young prince over the lie, orders him to be executed. The heroine/sidekick/princess have to find a way to prove that the young prince did find the water. When all is lost, treasure from a kingdom the young prince helped out (should of mentioned that earlier. Maybe it's the palace, and the princess sent it. That makes sense. Yeah!), and among it is some magical truth telling thing. The King uses this to find out that the two brothers lied, and the young prince isn't executed at all. The elder brothers flee the king, or are banished from the kingdom, or are executed off-screen (but the young prince would object, saying they shouldn't be killed, and they are then banished... Meh). Then there's a celebration, and the prince marries the heroine/princess. The end!

Yeah, that would be a pretty good movie, if a few details were changed. It could really appeal to all the young demographics, especially the boys who won't see a movie about princesses (like Disney thought about Princess & the Frog)...

I applaud you if you actually read all this.
