I made a reservation in the hope of this being the case :banana::banana:

and now someone on another forum has had confirmation from the DLH that the characters will be in their Halloween costumes at the lunch on the 31st. So excited and glad I plumped for this over the Sunday Brunch Cinema theme.

I found this on the internet from 2012, I'll be made up if even half of them turn up dressed like this :)

Not jealous much Jill lol !!!
I decided to have a quite day on the 31st hoping to keep the boys out a bit later, so this won't work for us.
Have cinema brunch out fits planned now :)
Can not wait to see your pics though !!!

How much was the lunch Jill? Is it a different price for children? I haven't booked - booked Saturday evening instead but thinking of cancelling that. On Friday there's just me and the two kids.

It's €54.50 adults and €29.50 for children, which I think is cheaper than the Sunday Brunch

I'm planning on going back to the hotel after the meal for some Zzzz's Racheal, I'm always in bed by 9.30, I can push it to 11 at the weekend, but haven't seen 1.00am in the past 25 years. LOL

I'll bring lots of pics back Anemone, very excited never eaten at Inventions before :goodvibes

Thanks so much Jill. I really can't decide what to do. If it is definitely Halloween costumes, I am interested, but I'd hate to pay and it not be as we've done Inventions so many times I'm not that bothered this trip. We won't get to DLRP until about 10.30 am as it is and after an early start, I'm not sure if it's a good thing to do or not. I can't decide how busy the parks will be that day and so, would we better off just grabbing a sandwich and getting as much done as poss? I wondered if Friday would be slightly quieter than the Saturday due to perhaps people arriving later for the late Halloween party on the Friday night :confused3 But, it's all just guestimates!

That's amazing news! We've also booked lunch on halloween day thinking the same as you. I emailed the DLH about a week ago and they "confirmed" to me that it wasn't happening; we were going to go anyway just in case because if we didn't go you know they would be out in special costumes! So excited :)

I have emailed too - no reply as of yet but will let people know.

I have to say, the characters above look great, but they were at a special specific Halloween brunch which was quite a lot more expensive than the usual lunch/dinner price (I'm sure Vala went to it), which makes me think it may not be on that scale at all tbh. Hoping there may be the odd character dressed up though - seems silly not to, especially as the brunch that weekend (and the previous weekend) is a just a 'normal' recurring theme.

Will see what they say. Knowing my luck, it's probably fully booked anyway - although having said that, I'm not sure how many people realise they do character lunches sometimes at Inventions these days as they haven't always done them and it seems sporadic at best! I'm only after 3 seats, so perhaps we may hit lucky if we get confirmation.

I don't think I could book and then turn up and see and cancel if not what I thought iyswim. I'd feel terrible doing that, unless I had hours to go. I'm not even sure of the timings of the lunch? Can anyone confirm please? I've asked in my email but how quickly they reply and to what depth, is always a gamble!! ;)

I'm excited but not getting my hopes up. They change their mind sooo often it's not worth getting your hopes up tooo much. I know if we see anyone in halloween costumes we'll be chuffed, so anything more is a bonus. (On a side note, we're also trailing around all the hotels hoping to catch one or two there as well - you never know until you look!)

Cancelling if it's not what we expected was our first thought. We had since decided we probably wouldn't - then we would. Now we've made our mind up to go "whatever", even if it is just regular characters when we turn up. We've booked for 1pm but I think it's open from 12 -3 ish. I would book! You can always change your mind. There are people who wouldn't give it a second thought just not to turn up!

I'm still undecided about attending, especially as Halloween type events in Inventions in the past have been more money. I am still waiting for a reply from the DLH - but there's nothing new there!! I'll give them until the end of the week then politely chase!

I know what you mean about people not giving it a second thought about not turning up. That is why WDW brought in a credit card charge for no-shows! I still have the Saturday evening booked, just waiting to sort out this and then I'll cancel it.

Yes, and yes.

I can't recall the exact cost, but it was way more than 54.50. I have 74 in my mind, but I don't have the receipt on hand. It was definitely more than Sunday character brunch when I went, and 54.50 is way less than the Sunday brunch price.

We had dinner at Inventions before the halloween party last year. All the characters were in their Halloween outfits just like the picture. A few of the villains were in there too. We saw 8 characters during the course of the meal and was a great way to start the Halloween party!

Thank you Vala - I think it was 74 euros too! ;)

That would be great, but this is the lunchtime. We definitely won't be at dinner that night as we're not going to the party and are heading out of the park by 7 pm.

It is a lot of money to spend on the hope they are in costume, as we are trying to keep costs down. I will update when I hear back from the DLH. :)

I am going round in circles trying to work out what meals we are doing. And, I'm risking getting nothing as it's so near the time :lmao:.

I have booked Cafe Mickey for Friday evening but I'm now swaying to cancelling this and doing Inventions in the evening rather than the lunchtime! Argh - too much choice isn't good for me! I just don't fancy doing Inventions at lunch and then CM in the evening and I think lunchtime will take up too much of our first day as I don't think we'll be in the park until about 11.30 am anyway!

Does anyone think the characters will be in Halloween dress on the Friday evening - I'd like to think yes? We went a few years ago at Christmas (early Dec) and ate at Inventions in the evening and the characters were all in lovely Christmas outfits!

I haven't had a chance to post on here, but the DLH did confirm that Halloween characters would be "overdressed in Halloween costume" ;) for lunch. However, when I asked about dinner, I was told it wasn't confirmed :confused3.

I have decided to book the Halloween lunch and move Cafe Mickey to lunch on our last day instead. :woohoo:

It's not long now - super :banana::banana::banana::banana:!
