Alright Ladies and Gentlemen,

I've been a bit of a lurker on this board, with a few posting. But frankly I'd like to get to know a bit about everyone AND their upcoming/past Disney Weddings/Honeymoons

I'll start....

Me: 22 yrs old, 2nd Year Law Student, hoping to get into the field of Criminal Prosecutions, HUGE Disney Fan and have been there 8 times.... which I think is pretty good considering I live in Saskatchewan!

DF: 26 yrs old, Senior Planner with a major farm equipment manufacterer, Only been to Disney twice, but is a Disney Fan in Training!

We were engaged in Disney on April 23, 2008 on a family vacation with my Momma and Step-daddy. It was the best vacation, and I never imagined that I would actually get engaged beside the castle! AND on top of that we got a resort upgrade to the Contemporary from POR!

The Wedding!

June 6, 2009 - will be in our home town, not huge about 120 ppl. Really elegant and fairytale themed. Everything from a harpist to the cake has a Fairytale theme!

After that we are off for DISNEY! From June 8-19 for a fabulous vacation back at POR! We are super excited as this is our first holiday alone together (and we've been dating for 5 years!)

And then back to reality and I'll move into our fantastic apartment with him!

Anyway, I'd love to hear about all the other ppl on this board!

I'm Cassie, I am 23 and also a HUGE disney fan. A few years ago my parents bought a vacation place in Celebration when it was still a Disney town. So we don't stay at the disney hotels as often as I would like :sad2: Previously we used to go down a few times a year and we stayed all over the place, but always on campus. So I am pretty familiar with most of the hotels. The up side is that we can go to disney pretty much whenever because we have a free place to stay, annual passes and a car. So DF and I go down quite a bit.

The pirate and princess party (hopefully will be back next year) and the halloween party are my favorites.

I love Disney, we have been to all of the disneys and Hong Kong is by far my favorite. I have always said if the flight wasn't so incredibly long it would be the PERFECT place for a wedding - and trust me I tried to talk everyone into it for ours.

My favorite princess is Belle and my favorite character is Roger Rabbit. My favorite ride is the old figment ride and Mr. Toad. I really like Philaharmagic and the spectromagic parade and evening shows- wishes, fantasmic etc.

We got engaged at Disney - you can read the novel in my PJ. We are planning to do a DCL wedding in Jan of 2010 with about 60 people. Our entire wedding is going to be shades of pink and maybe some dark blue- but only to please DF. I am super excited about it and terrified about the logistics.

Me: 22 Travel Agent and Scrapbooker. I've been to Disney 29 times. I love the parks, I miss the way it was when I was 6, but have come around to the changes

DFi: 23 System Administrator for a college server group. He's been to Disney 8 times (7 of those with me) He enjoys the park, but enjoys the history and goes so often because I love it.

Proposal: Dec 30, 2008 We were at Disney for our annual New Year's trip. Walking towards Tomorrowland and we stopped to get a photopass picture. He asked and I said yes (It wasn't a real surprise I picked on my ring on a spur of the moment Day after Thanksgiving shopping trip)

Wedding: Sept 6, 2010. Planning Epcot-Italy Isola for the ceremony, Hollywood Studios-Hollywood Hideaway for the reception, and no dessert party. Neither DFi or I like Illuminations and the Wishes dessert party doesn't fit our budget. We're going to go to Magic Kingdom, and enjoy the parks with our friends and family. We're planning Sorcerer Mickey theme with about 30 people.

Honeymoon: The rest of the week at Wilderness Lodge (the resort DFi wants to stay at) We plan on taking it easy (instead of our normal commando touring)

Hii! I'm Nikki. I'm 24...25 a month from tomorrow! Anyway. I'm a musician and will be a student in Pastry School very soon. And of course, Disney Dork Extrordinaire.
My financee is 22 and she's a student at NYU.
We are very silly.
And yes, a same-sex couple.
We're planning an Escape Wedding at Sea Breeze Point 5 Jan 2010.
Whoo! :cool1:
We'll be staying at the Poly from Jan 2 - 12th.
Aaand we got engaged in WDW in Feb 2008.

Me - Kelly, 49, I work as a Criminal Intelligence Specialist for a federal law enforcement agency.

DF - Gregg, 46, retired Army engineer, Deputy for local Sheriff's dept, and full time contractor on military installation.

Proposal - He got on one knee at The Point, a steakhouse that is "our place", after a romantic day following the wine trail.

Wedding - 16 May, Shades of Green Resort gazebo, Disney World. :bride:

Honeymoon - 7 days Disney/Universal studios, followed by a 3 day Caribbean cruise!

Here's a little about us:

Me: Stephanie (25) I am a pre-kindergarten teacher in an inner city school district (3 and 4 year olds) Working on my masters. I was born and raised in Lancaster PA, and moved to Harrisburg last March. My dad is a hardcore DVC fan, and I have been going all my life.

DFi: Rashad (28) He's an xray tech who drives down to Baltimore from our home in Harrisburg everyday - I LOVE HIM!!! He originally from Douglasville Georgia, and very happy we are having a wedding down south! Our wedding will be his second trip to Disney!! (very exciting)

We booked our wedding before we got engaged, but he proposed last month in our favorite spot in Inner Harbor.

We are having an Escape Wedding on October 8, 2009 at Sea Breeze Point.

Hi Everyone!

I'm Susan, 26 and a fund accountant.

DF: Jonathon, 28 (29 next month!:bday: ) He's a landscape gardener and a MASSIVE POTC fan.

Proposal: Jonathon proposed way back in Feb 2001 five months after we started going out. I had just started uni and we weren't very wealthy so we went down to Killarney in the West to a nice B&B for my 19th bday. He brought a CD player to play our song - Ewan McGregor's version of 'Your Song' from Moulin Rouge. He sang the song to me as it played on the stereo, then got on one knee and asked me to marry him. :lovestruc

Wedding: We are planning a WDW wedding 28th April 2010 - WP/Whitehall/UK DP. Followed by a 2-3 week Disneymoon depending on how generous our bosses are :rotfl:

Believe it or not but our planning session in November will be our 1st trip to WDW and we can't wait:banana: :cheer2: . We normally go to DLRP.

Me: Meg (that sounds so Tarzan!) short for Meghan Kathleen. I'm 27, but will be 28 on Kel's wedding day (Tink_Kel) if that tells you anything. I'm a Social Work/Psychology student with a minor in English and will be out next May, THANK GOD!!

Him: Rob, 34. Accountant by day, Meteorologist by night.

Proposal - Long story - check it out on our wedding website by going here

Wedding - October 12, 2009 at Sea Breeze Point, reception at Atlantic Dance Hall and Dessert Party at UK Upper.

You can check out my PJ - I'll be updating it tomorrow with lots of good stuff! :goodvibes

Oh yes, we live in Caribou, Maine which is 8 hours north of Boston on the Canadian border. We're known for snow up here, and I'm known for usually complaining about it!! LOL

Hi everyone!

Me: Nikki 33 SAHM to 2 great kids. Destiny 11 and Bobby 6(in 3 days!!)

DH: Rob, 36 Field Technician for Verizon in NYC(not the wireless company) and he has his own business of website developing and hosting.

We are both huge Disney fans and honeymooned there 12 years ago in July. We are DVC members and go to WDW about twice a year now. We are also huge Nightmare Before Xmas fans and have a huge collection of stuff from that movie! I am also Twilight obsessed!

Vow Renewal: Nov. 9, 2009 Wedding Pavilion ceremony, cocktail hour and reception in the White Hall Room and Patio. We will be celebrating 12 years of marriage and 15 years as a couple. We have overcome many obstacles especially the past 3 years and can't think of a better way to celebrate our lives together!! 50 of our family members and friends will join us and we plan on celebrating all week long!!! We got married at the courthouse the first time around so this time we are going all out for a big bash!! We are so excited!!

:wave2: Hello.

Me: Bec, 24, Real Estate Agent in Oz.

DF: Chris, 26, Owns his own business installing, repairing and selling air compressors...

I've been the DLR twice, and DF has been with me one of those times. We're heading back in May . We haven't been to any other parks, but we want a WDW wedding in March 2011, because we feel there's a little more there for the people who's minds aren't as tuned towards Disney as they should be!!

Hi Everyone!
I've been lurking for a while but finally decided to register and start posting and figured this would be a good place to start.
I am Amy, 34, and live in Orlando.
I got engaged in Jan 2009 and am aiming for a spring 2010 wedding. No date has been set yet and I'm still in the very early planning stages. I teach 2nd grade for a living and spring break is coming up so I'm hoping to start some more serious planning then.
I'm pretty sure I want a beach wedding and it will include some sort of a Disney element because Disney is very special to DF and I. At the moment it is between the beach at the wedding pavilion and an off propery location that has a lakefront beach setting and is only 5-10 min from Disney (that place is called Paradise Cove). It will all depend on the budget. I'd love the cruise line but wouldn't be able to have everyone join us that I'd like without paying for their staterooms and that is definitely not in our budget. If I end up at Paradise Cove I'll probably have a dessert party at Disney afterwards or as a welcome reception.
My favorite movie is the Little Mermaid. I have a huge TLM collection and I'm sure Ariel will be incorporated into the wedding somehow. Ties in perfectly with the beach theme.:)
I look forward to "meeting" everyone and hearing about their weddings.

Hi! A little about us:

Me: Hector, 38, Software Enginner, and work for a consulting firm.

Her: Juana, 39, Electronics Enginerr, she's starting a Career also in consulting.

We live in Mexico City and have two dogs, Floppy and Chip (yes, I know, nerdy)

We really didn't have a proposal, since we had already being living together. I just asked her, during her first trip to WDW. 'What about getting married here?' And so we did on Dec 4th, 2008, in the Wedding Pavillion :goodvibes

Hi Everyone!

Me: I'm Ashley. I'm 24 and a police officer in the town where I live
DF: He's 22 and a Deputy Sheriff where he lives (sadly, we live 3 hours apart still)

I have been to Walt Disney World 13 times and it is STILL my favorite place in the entire world. My DF just went w/ my family and I to WDW earlier this month to run the Princess Half Marathon and he hasn't stopped talking about it!

We just engaged Sunday but we're planning a March 2010 wedding.

Hi there, figured I would come out and say hello to those of you I haven't met yet :)

Me: Samantha (Sam) 26, dance teacher (and I have a little day job as well lol). Huge Disney freak, been about 25 times, my father blames my disney obseccion on my dear wonderful mom lol! Some poeple just don't get it!

DF: Dave 26, works at an Acura dealership :) Had never been to Disney until I got my hands on him lol! Now he has been twice with a 3rd trip in 3 days!

Proposal:
At the wishing well by Cinderella's Castle after MVMCP Holiday Wishes.:lovestruc

Wedding: 2/8/10 Wedding Pavillion and Atlantic Dance Hall, and I feel like the only bride not doing a dessert party! I am trying to see about a small one for just us and my folks and his folks a few days before the wedding as a "thank you" though so we will see...

We're not doing a dessert party, so you're not alone. Although, I thought I was the only one not having one. DFi and I both dislike Illuminations and the Wishes and Fantasmic don't have great views to us. But with a morning wedding and some people not leaving after we wanted to offer some evening entertainment for our guests. We're going to Magic Kingdom to see wishes...and their dessert a popcorn bucket. I know I can't wear my dress, but now I get to go shopping for a cute knee length white dress to wear that night.

That sounds like a good plan to me, I love a good popcorn bucket! You can splurge and get the buckets instead of the boxes:lmao:! Those buckets last forever by the way, I use my old ones for all sorts of odds and ends:thumbsup2

Me: 24 years old and currently working retail while saving to finish my undergrad degree. I've been a lurker on this board for a little while and unlike most of you, I've only been to Disney four times. It's the most magical place in the world to me and seems to get more so the older I get :lovestruc

Fiancee: 24 years old and recently graduated!!!! And has been there (he thinks) 5-6 times (WDW) and Disneyland a couple of times (born in CA).

Proposal: there was no Disney involved but he proposed on Halloween, which has to count for something ;)

The wedding: sadly, we will not be doing a Disney wedding because we want to keep things closer to home but you can bet we'll be on a plane to WDW the next day :rotfl:
Wedding plans are sort of in limbo but we're shooting for the first couple weeks of January and then leaving immediately afterwards for our Disneymoon. We're pretty much set on the Grand Floridian as well. What can I say, we're traditionalists.... WDW was our first trip together so we thought it would be more than fitting to return for the honeymoon!

Me: 20 years old (Am I the youngest one here???) undergraduate student and office assistant graduating this December(hopefully) or in May 2010

Him: 25 years old; electrician and a Disney World virgin:rotfl:

Proposal: We already knew we were getting married wayy before the proposal, but it happened this past New Years 2008/ New Years Day 2009. He and I were popping fireworks and at the stroke of midnight, as the fireworks were bursting, he got down on one knee and proposed.:lovestruc

:bride:Wedding: We will not be having a Disney Wedding as FI wants to keep it local as well as keep the costs down so we can splurge for the ultimate Disneymoon. Our wedding will take place on May 1, 2010. I have been to Disney only 3 times and have never stayed on site and FI has never been so we are incredibly excited to be going.
