Hi all! I am new here (very new--never been to WDW:sad2: ) and would like to introduce myself. I have been lurking here for about 3 months now and have picked up some very useful information. Thank you all!! Well now, on to the introduction--I am a 28 yr old woman who has never been to Disney World :scared1: Granted, I have always wanted to go but the timing never was right. After much talking and pleading and prodding and showing price quotes to dh, I have finally convinced him to let me book a trip ----in 2008. I know, I know, better late than never right? The wait is killing me!!! We have decided to go in September (we as in me, dh, dd7, dd3, dmil, dsil) and are considering ASMU (family suite). My dh thinks I am crazy as every time I get online I am looking at any and everything disney related. I just tell him you can never be too prepared. Well, in his defense, I can totally understand why he looked at me like I sprouted a second head when I requested he stop by Home Depot and liberate me some Alien Green Mickey head paint chips!! Anyway, this has gotten really longwinded for an intro. I just wanted to say hi and I hope to post here more often!

Welcome to the Dis! I didn't find out about the Dis until after our 2nd trip in 2004, so my advice would be to continue reading as much as possible. Start compiling a list of things that interest you. 2008 sounds like its far away, but it will be here before you know it! I remember being a little overwhelmed when we took our first family trip to Disney, so make sure you relax when you're there. Don't try to do EVERYTHING in one trip - all the more reason to plan your next trip! So, welcome, and have fun planning!

Thanks so much for the advice! I already have a notebook half filled with things to see and do, but knowing me and my family it will all probably go out the window once we get there!! I so don't want to be stressed out on this trip--I want everyone to have a great time and hopefully dh will have such a great time that he will want to make a return trip!! I do have to say that the DIS rocks! I have found so much here that most nights I am up til the wee hours of the morning :surfweb: What a great bunch of people!!

:welcome:

Great place to gets great info. Ask lots of questions too, someone always has the answer.Everyone is great:disrocks:
Happy planning!

Hi and Welcome! You will get use to the way your DH looks at you, shakes his head, rolls his eyes...whatever.....and the people that ask you why you are so excited about WDW etc. When you are feeling bummed out about it, just come here, we will cheer you up! :goodvibes

It was only last year about this time that I started bugging DH about a trip, tried to talk him into the free dining time last year, he eventually said, go ahead and book, but can you pick another time other than hurricane season.... WELL, that was not a problem, and guess what, I had a whole year to plan and savour the excitement of our trip. It is like being on vacation for the whole year...:rotfl: So, have fun planning!!!!

Welcome to DISboards!:welcome: You will find us a friendly bunch with lots of ideas. I see that you are from Maryland (I am from northern VA) and I always price all three airports for flights. Also, I buy the WDW Passporter, which lists things what rides are high in volume, when, etc. but it may help you plan a little. Since this is your first trip try at least a few special dinner shows, like the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue, at Ft. Wilderness (our favorite) or the Luau at the Polynesian Resort. We always have a great time and each time we do some of the same things and some new and/or different things! You've got lots of time but just plan with flexibility and relax, you'll have a great time - YOU'RE GOING TO DISNEY!!!

:wave2: Hi! I'm new to! It sounds like you are well on your way! Hope you all have as much fun as we have planning! :yay:

Thank you Laura for the welcome! Funny you should mention the part about people asking why you are so excited about WDW--everytime I am at work I am constantly looking on the floor/ground for loose change. One day at work I found 3.00 worth of loose change that people had dropped. Finders Keepers!! Ever since then I have become the joke--"oh look, there's Kathy trying to fund her trip to Disney!" I now have a piggy that I deposit all my change at the end of the night into and will count once a month. Last month my total was 17.00 !! Not bad!! Now who's laughing!!:rotfl2:

Thank you for the welcome Disney Crazy Debbie!! Looks like your not too far from me!! A fellow DISser!!! I plan on buying the Passporter but I wonder if I should wait until the 2008 version comes out? I have been itching to pick one up--will there be a big difference between the 07 and the 08 one!! I don't know if we will be getting the dining plan (praying for free dining!!) but I do know that I want to do at least 2 special dinners as it will be all of ours FIRST TIME IN DISNEY!! Wow I can't believe I am finally going to get to go!!!

Wow, I think I wrote your post! LOL! I'm 28, never been to WDW, but have wanted to go my whole life. (Have canceled 3 trips for various reasons. :confused3 ) We are going March 2008. My kids will be 5 and 17 months when we go. We're staying at ASMovies. We have a lot in common! How cool is that? :thumbsup2

Happy planning, and welcome to the Dis!
