I am new on this board and just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself (hope this is the right place). My name is Deanna and I am planning my 7th trip to Disney for October 21-29. I'll be traveling with my husband (his 5th trip), 4 year old son (4th trip) and 9 month old son (1st trip). We'll also be taking our friends and their three children (1st trip for all). We are staying at All-Star Movies (our first time there) for the first night since we will be arriving late and then moving to the BW Villas for the remainder of the trip.

I haven't been to Disney in October since '96, so I'm not sure what to expect as far as crowds and weather. We usually go in either late November/early December or late January/early February, so we've never had to deal with crowds.

Also, we haven't been there since Early Entry has been reintroduced. I had my touring plan down pat, but the new days are throwing me for a loop! Any suggestions for which park on which day in October? We usually try to avoid the Early Entry park.

Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated!!!

I look forward to getting to know you all!

Since we go in February and don't do early entry, I can't help you with your questions, however, I would like to welcome you to the DIS Boards!! ~:p~

Welcome Deanna2426,

We will also be @ WDW Oct. 21-Oct. 31 @ the Poly.:smooth:

Welcome to the DIS, deanna2426! We're so glad you found us! :)

October should be a very nice time of year to visit. The really brutal heat will be over (!) and the crowds will be lighter than summertime. It will still be plenty warm enough to enjoy the water parks, however.

If you prefer to avoid Extra Magic Hour (formerly called Early Entry), you may want to look at the list of Extra Magic Hour parks and then plan to go to the park that had Extra Magic Hour the day before. So if Magic Kingdom has Extra Magic Hour on Sunday, go there on Monday.

We look forward to getting to know you better and I hope you have a wonderful vacation!

Welcome to the boards. We will be arriving on the 24th October.

October is a GREAT time to go, lighter crowds and moderate weather. When we went on our own (3 of us) we hit EMH every time. Last trip we had the parents, sister, in-laws and our niece with us. EMH goes right out the window with that many people IF you plan on sticking together. ANd PS arrangements become more challenging. By day 3, I was like "see ya meet us in the park, here's the walkie-talkie."

Don't forget to also consider plans for MNSSHP and the Epcot Food & WIne Festival.

Normally, I'd say we are arriving that week too, but we are trying to squeeze our trip in around our annual passes and work schedules.

Thanks for all your advice! I always get excited planning all of our Disney trips, but this time is especially exciting b/c we've never been to MNSSHP or Epcot Food and Wine Festival. Overall, it seems like October might be the perfect time to go!!!

PS We are huge Buzz fans. You can't enter any room of our house without being bombarded by Space Ranger stuff. Our three year old wants to grow up to be the real Buzz Lightyear!

Welcome to the Dis!! The Buzz ride is one of our favorite rides at Disney. There are so many new things for you to enjoy now. I know you will have a blast!
