Introduction and advise request

Id love to be at that Dis meet but cant as DD is back in school

:sad2:

DB's school are usually fairly nice about giving us the time off, which helps because he gets quite stressed at times when it's busier...

We do try to avoid taking him out of school when it's important though, so we try to keep it to the very beginning / ends of terms when he's not doing much anyway.

Mr Small Worlds job also means we're tied to school hols as well usually.

Ah I see...

I guess we're lucky in that sense - none of us (apart from DB) are tied to school holidays, so it's just a case of finding out what he's doing in school and seeing if we can get him away for a few days.

It's also quite "helpful" that DB doesn't go to your average school, so he doesn't really have exams to sit and the like.

Interesting...

I just tried applying for a standard personal dealing account at Self Trade and got the following message:

"Unfortunately, we are unable to verify your identity and therefore cannot accept your application. Please click on the continue button to return to the home page."

Guess I'll have to phone them tomorrow and register that way. No idea why they can't verify my identity - I've given them all the information they asked for :confused3

We were often asked for ID when using our card during our last trip.
... also we saw a youth having a card taken off him by a CM, even though he stated it was his parents card

Selftrade's website seems to have a mind of it's own!! I had no problem registering etc but while I was on the phone buying the shares the guy talked me through accessing different things on my account, I was already logged in - it logged me out - then told me my pin was incorrect 3 times - locked my pin after 3 atempts - the guy had to unlock it twice before it finally let me log back in with the same pin I'd been entering all along:confused3 - even he didn't know why it was saying it was wrong.

I've been on the disney share site and filled the online form in, submitted it and it says 'thank you for your application please print the form, sign and post to ..... together with proof of shares' etc.......brilliant except it won't give me the damn form to print.......I have a little button to press to access it but the page is blank:confused: looks like I'm going to have to ring them to find out where the form is (so far all I can get on the number supplied it an ansmachine)

Just thought I'd let you know in case you have the same problem when you've finally got your shares:rolleyes1

I mgiht sign up and do this tomorrow evening. Are self trade only open 9-5 telephone wise?

Also, will Jack be allowed in Salon Mickey too? Even if the sares are only my name?

Where is Salon Mickey????

Just had a look on the website and Selftrade phone lines are open Mon - Fri 7.45 am to 7.00pm, Sun 2pm to 6pm, nothing on Saturday!

On the Disney Corporate site in the shareholders section found -

Saloon Mickey is by the entrance to the park between Readmission entrance and the guest relations window.

Found some info on who is allowed in, few pages of regulations but basically -
as a shareholder you can take -

4 guests max per visit in so far as the guests can prove they are the spouse or partner, children or parent

0r

3 guests max per visit in so far as these persons are other than the ones mentioned above

in addition it also mentions a max of 5 visits per month with max of 1 per day

max capacity of the Saloon is 30 so they will refuse enter if full

I hadn't really looked at these regs before I decide to buy shares as wasn't really planning on going in anyway.....but looks like our party of 4 adults, 2 kids and baby wouldn't be allowed in anyway all together and certainly couldn't do all 6 days we are there!

Hope that helps
