Introducing myself

Hi, I have been a reader and lurker for 4+ years but only just registered today. I love reading the budget board in particular as I have been a couponer for years. I am married and have two boys, ages 12 and almost 10. We live in the DC Metro area, I am a freelance writer working from home. We are currently planning a Disney/Universal trip for the summer. This will be the first time going to Universal and the third time the boys will be going to Disney.

Hi Erica! Your kind of my neighbor.... I am from Delaware near Rehoboth Beach area.
I have only been to Disney once and have also been to Universal and Seaworld. Loved Universal and Seaworld! Your boys will have a blast! If I had a chance to go back to Florida and only pick Disney or Universal, I have to say I would probably do Universal!

Hi, we LOVE Rehoboth Beach...we share a house with friends for a week every June. My kids are not roller coaster riders, but the older one loves movies and they both love HP so we are looking forward to it. We thought about just doing Universal but I just can't go to Orlando and not do Disney too!

I love it here on the Budget board & Community board. I am a frugal person by nature but I also like to have nice things and I find this a great place to get input from all different types of people.

My husband and I took our first Disney World trip together last February and LOVED it! We stayed at Coronado Springs Resort for 7 nights and it was great to get away! We also spent one full park day at Universal Studios/Island of Adventures and actually didn't like it very much, but I know others really enjoy it there. We did enjoy a few rides and it was neat to just walk around, but for us it did not even come close to Disney World. Since you've done Disney several times, I bet your boys will absolutely love Universal, though! We don't have kids but I would love the experience of taking my kids to a theme park like Disney or Universal.

I'm not sure if you've already purchased your tickets or figured everything out yet, but we got our Disney park hopper tickets through Undercover Tourist, and then got our Universal/IoA park hopper tickets through Dreams Unlimited Travel that also had the round trip shuttle service with it from our Disney resort so we didn't have to rent a car or anything. It worked out great for us.

Hi! I am also a new diser (long time lurker on the budget board as well!) Also from the metro DC area-nice to see someone from my neck of the woods! On my iphone if i hit the post to reply it quotes, but if i scroll up to the top and use the little box with the swooshy arrow ( clear as mud? Sorry!) then it gives me an option to reply to the thread and that doesnt quote...HTH -
