We will be arriving around 7-8 pm (or at least hoping to after 5:05 LAX arrival--no bags to claim and renting a car), and while we are planning to stay at the Candy Cane Inn, I'd really like to visit either a Disney resort or Downtown Disney for dinner. Any advise to get us in the mood? Just two adults dining.

And, while I'm on the subject, we'd also like to say "farewell" with a nice resort breakfast. Which one would you suggest?

Hmm If you had kids, I was going to suggest Goofy's kitchen for Dinner. Great way to get into the Park experience without using tickets to get into the park.

Great place for Dinner is Napa Rose in DGC. I think it is the best of the adult restuarants. You will need reservations.

With out kids I would say either Napa Rose or Steakhouse 55 (formerly Granvilles steakhouse). Napa Rose is at the GC hotel, 55 is at the DLH. There are also some nice places in downtown Disney that would work.

For breakfast I've heard great things about Storytellers. It is a character meal, but its pretty low key. YOu have a choice of the buffet or menu service. If you'll be in the park on the last day, I would say Carnation Cafe on main street. Its a great place to people watch and the food is good!

We went in May 2006 and booked most of our dinners ahead of time online, eating in DTD. We ate at Tortilla Jo's one night and really enjoyed it; ate at Naples another night and it was horrible and overpriced.

You can book online here:

We did eat at Storyteller's in the GCH for breakfast one morning and it was REALLY good. One thing I noticed that was different between CA and FL was the produce just tasted so much better. I'm sure it's fresher being that so much of it comes from CA, anyway. I wish we would have checked that place out for dinner one night, but we didn't.

We are just back from Disneyland. The two best meals that we ate were at Napa Rose and Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen (upstairs at the fine dining restaurant portion). Both were very suitable for 2 adults on a night out, albeit pricey at both. But, while pricey, the food was outstanding and well worth it.

I forgot to answer your question about a resort breakfast. I would recommend Storytellers, too. While it is a character breakfast, the characters are not intrusive (we had to ask management to send them over to us as none came by in the first 25 minutes.) We had passes to the buffet, so we didn't try a la carte. However, the buffet was really good - especially for Disneyland (the food at DL is not as good as WDW food in general.)

Last trip we had breakfast in the steakhouse at disneyland hotel, it was great , good food , good service and the room is full of old movie stars and Walt Disney or disneyland photos. jazz kitchen for dinner was good too!

I will also agree that Storytellers Cafe for their character breakfast would be a great option. Wonderful food on the buffet, or you can order off the menu. Also the atmosphere is very lovely and unique and its not the noisy, crazy, frantic environment most character breakfasts are, yet is still lot of fun and lively. For dinner we have always enjoyed Tortilla Joes, Naples and Rainforest Cafe in DTD. We have also enjoyed Hook's Pointe at the Disneyland Hotel. Click on the link at the top of this page in brown that says Disneyland Information: You will find menu's pricing and other information about Disneyland.

On our first night we went to DTD, and ate at the Jazz Kitchen. It was delish!!!! We took our kids, and the food was amazing. If you eat there, get the app. sampler. It was so good.

On our December trip, we arrived around 6:30 and enjoyed a 7:00 dinner at Storyteller's. We also ate dinner there in September. Their dinner buffet is very good--be sure to try the corn chowder. They also have a menu that you can order off of. It is more relaxing than Goofy's kitchen and it is not a character dinner, but it is very good.
