Hmm.... interesting article. This looks like an Ohio thread.......
At least you've got some nice ski options up your way. The one new option we were developing ended up closing. Spicy Run had a 600ft vertical drop, and was about 1.3 hours south of Columbus. Otherwise, I'ts a 4.5 hour trip to Seven Springs. Holiday Valley and Peak n Peak are pretty close to you, that's a nice winter entertainment option.
Given this article and teh reduced Disney influence, perhaps we'll see the Hard Rock Hotel added to the
DVC Concierge Collection..... maybe in 2041.
We don't venture offsite except for groceries and supplies, but we anticipate doing this more in the future. It seems like that if you really want to maximize your time and enjoyment at universal, that staying in one of thier hotels and taking advantage of the front of the line pass is the way to go.
I'd forgetten about their needing to pay for thier new ships. Big capital investment. The article makes a great point about missing the market with young kids, although I'll bet it would be a tougher question to answer if the comparison was Buzz Lightyear vs. Spiderman. Disney needs to develop new attractions. The spiderman ride is kicking thier tail. There's plenty of opportunity at MGM and Epcot for new innovation. Kind of sad to see some older ride reminants just sitting there. ALthough our DVC sales seem to keep continuing.
