The website used to list that AP's were included for the bride and groom. Is this still the case? I could find no mention of it when I looked today...

For intimate weddings, park tickets and hotel are no longer included in the package price. You still need to stay a minimum of 4 nights on Disney property, but you pay for this separately. Tickets and meals are completely up to you. Good luck!

so the effective cost has REALLY gone up. I am (was) considering a vow renewal, but perhaps we will just go back to Gatlinburg TN where we got married in the first place....

As far as I know, AP passes were never part of the Intimate Package, they were part of the custom package.

In reality, the cost of the intimate wedding hasn't really gone up that much. With the availability of discount rooms and packages (like AAA) at ANY WDW resort, you could actually spend a little less.

Up until this change, Intimate brides had to book a minimum of 4 nights at a moderate (or better) resort. Now, you only need to book at a WDW resort.

Good luck with your decision!

What!!!! :furious: I was told I had to book a moderate. I did and got POR but I'm keeping it anyway. There is nothing wrong with the values but for a honeymoon I guess its better to do things on a higher scale

Oh...maybe I am wrong about that, I thought that since they weren't doing the reservations anymore, they didn't care where they were as long as they were on Disney property.

I just checked the website and all it says is that it must be a Disney owned an operated resort (which I think excludes the Swan and Dolphin).

Is it possible you got "caught" in the change-over from the old way to the new way? I believe they used to require that you book at a moderate (at least), but that was when the package included accommodations...

Disney has a habit of forgetting to mention that value resorts are allowed. I know for at least the last several years you could book at them, but they never told you that. Kinda like the old add-on guests rule, if you ask sure, if you don't ask they don't tell (no longer applies b/c they changed the numbers). The package did not get any more expensive since they took away the passes and room, because you are now charged the add-on fee, which was what they used if you booked and already had your room and tickets before. And you never got AP's with the intimate, that's for custom brides.

I am pretty sure you can use a value resort as well. I was even told that you can book with an internet or discounting agency. (I have a credit with Travelocity that has to be used up soon and wondered if I could book a WDW through Travelocity.)

DD (melmel) stayed at Pop Century, a value resort for her 4 day requirement for an Intimate wedding. Also, if you are a DVC member, that would count too.
