Intimate Add On clarification

Hello all I just need help clarifying the add on portion. My understanding is the add on is just for people who want to pay for there disney rooms seperate. For instance for my wedding (februaruy 25th) we're staying a 13 night stay at POR. So working with the add on I could book the 13 nights seperate and possibly use a AAA discount then add the Intimate Add On Package. Am I anywhere close to the idea? I"m trying to go through all these old posts trying to figure this out...please let me know

For any intimate wedding, you have to book four room nights at any Disney resort. When you've booked, you call DFTW with your reservation number and you can then book your wedding day. I believe in previous years, the package included nights in a hotel, but people wanted to be able to add extras on to their hotel stay, such as the dining plan and the like, so they made it so you could handle your own discounts and just purchase the wedding seperately.

Belle Amy is correct. In 2005, the intimate wedding package included accommodations. The "problem" was that it required you to stay at a moderate or deluxe and you paid "rack rate" for the rooms. No other "specials" or "discounts" applied.

We were married in 2005, the first year of the dining plan. But because we had booked our rooms through DFTW, we weren't eligible to have the dining plan. I was too unfamiliar with my options, so we went with that.

Now, you book a minimum 4 night stay at ANY Disney owned and operated resort (including the values!) using any discounts or specials you can get, and the intimate wedding is separate as an "add-on".
