So, I was at Target today looking for some good bargains and I stumbled upon the summer toys and pools. We have been thinking about investing in the Intex Metal Frame Pool since the local pool we joined last summer for $200 only allowed swimming after 4pm. By having some sort of pool at home, the kids could have fun all day long.

Does anyone have any good or bad experiences with this pool? I have read many reviews online and they are mostly positive. I have also been looking around websites for pricing. So far, Target does have the best price for the size we are looking for. I have looked at Amazon, Wal-Mart and Sears. Any other advice on where to look for a great price?

We bought a metal frame pool and used it for 3 summers before it got a hole in it (which I blame on the boys for doing prior to filling the water!). And we were able to patch the hole even with the water in it using a repair kit that cost less than 10 bucks. The pool is GREAT! I could use the same pool again this summer but am going to buy a larger one this month. Ours isn't on a completely even surface and we have never had any problems with the poles bending from the weight. I do put down a heavy tarp underneath the pool to prevent any rocks from poking through. I run the filter after the kids have swam in it and rinse the filter off daily as we have iron in our water and the filter turns "orange." I change the filter after about 2 weeks. If you keep the pH at a normal level the water is much easier to keep clear by using a clarifier and the settlements at the bottom can be vacuumed up by using a vacuum that runs off your garden hose. Buy it -- you will not regret it!!!

We have an Intex Metal Frame pool - we love it! It's so easy to maintain, and it withstands lots of splashy kids. :lmao: We put down sand, then a tarp, underneath it, but we never get ours completely level. It's fine. We're going on three years with this one. We had to patch it last year, but that was no problem. We have a floating chlorinator, and a floating pool cleaner basket. We also run the filter after we use it, rinse the filter cartridge every day, keep the cover on it at night, and change the filter cartridge every 2-3 weeks. We vacuum the pool about once a week. It's wonderful!

Thanks for all of the reviews! I think we are going to go ahead and get one! Seems like a great way for the kids have fun this summer! Now I just have to shop around and get the best price!

we're on our second one in 6 or 7 years .. we only upgraded to a larger one. the pool we replaced probably had another year or two left in it.

I am going to get a larger pump, the one that came with our pool doesn't seem to be big enough. other than that, no complaints here!

Love it! Bought it at Target two summers ago on sale. Ours is 15' x 42" and we upgraded from a smaller size, no frame. (Kids got bigger!) Absolutely worth the money. We clean it really well, and store it over the winter in a deckbox. Just run the filter and keep debris out and it works great. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2
