Interval International Resort close to DTD

Are there any II resorts walking distance to DTD? We have family reunion coming up in 2014 and plan to meet up in DTD with family that isnt going to the parks but since DTD parking isnt the best would like to possibly be able to walk there. Thank you for any help and info that I can pass on.

the closest are Sheraton Vistana Resort, Cypress Point - (these were only RCI -now they use both II and RCI)

the DVC used to be - but they have been using RCI for the last few years.

so walking to DD w/timeshare is not really possible at this time.

really wish that DVC would use both - but so far they are only using RCI.

I remember when DVC used II because my parents gave us there week to use at SSR for our disneymoon which was awesome and started our love of DVC properties.

I know that my sister heard that next II will be able to trade into DVC but I dunno if its reliable or not.

well the next one is VGF and is opening next month - so even if won't trade with II - sorry.

I didnt mean next dvc property... I meant next year... sorry forgot to type year

She heard next year II will be able to trade with DVC properties again. (Again dont know how reliable the person who told her that is.)

As long as you meet and park before 4:30 or so there is usually a lot of parking, in our experience. Unless its a Friday night, then I would go earlier.

We stayed at Marriott's Sabal Palms (connected to the Marriott Orlando World Center) last summer (and are planning on next spring there), and it's very close to DTD. We were on an II getaway - and loved that place! So close!

I agree - no II condos are walking distance.

The days that we drove to DTD we found plenty of parking. There is much less at DTD than there used to be (I sure miss Pleasure Island - went there twice and it was so fun!) but hopefully the new plans will bring some life back! I'm sure you'll find parking.

Marriott Grande Vista is about a mile closer than SVV but still, you will need a car. Its about a 5-10 min ride depending on traffic....

Grande Vista is quite a bit further than the Sheraton Vistana and the 3 Marriott "Palms" (Royal Palms, Sabal Palms, and Imperial Palms). We priced out a cab from Disney property for Sabal Palms and it was $15 from Epcot. My cab ride from MK to Grande Vista once (yikes, but DH had dropped us off and we stayed late, he was crashed) was $50+. Grande Vista is much closer to Sea World.
