Hi~

I was hoping someone could help me. We are interested in using Interval International to go to Hawaii in 2009.

Can someone explain in simple terms how that would work?

Do we need to have the available points now?

Can you tell them when you want to go?

If they can't match you do you get the points back or do you have to go somewhere else through the exchange?

Any additional details would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

YOU need to research the resorts. It's best to plan a full 2 years out but at least a year. You simply tell them which resorts, units sizes and dates. Basically you need the points in the use year the exchange occurs in but you don't give up the points until the exchange is found. HI is tough, esp for a 2 BR. There's a lot of competition and don't believe the hype that DVC members can simply pick anything they want. There are many II members that have trading power as high and even higher than DVC does.

Keep in mind once an exchange is found you are stuck with it and the points are gone. There are limited option to cancel or change after that and none will get your points back. They will NOT take your points until the match is found and they do not make you reserve the points just in case. If you do a search for Hawaii and my name you'll find a lot more info specific to HI exchanges.
