Interval International - Hawaii or Key West

We have a week banked at II from when we bought our OKW resale, and are considering spending a week in Hawaii (Kauai or Hawaii, not Maui) or Key West next (2002) April. I'm wondering if anyone's used II weeks there, and if so, could make some recommendations. Specifally, we're looking for a place that would have programs for kids (ages 3 1/2 & 6 1/2 at that time), as well as family-type activities, but, barring that, any information would be helpful.

If you decide to go to Key West, and depending on how long you are planning to stay there, you might need to come up with a quick answer to your offsprings question of: "Mom, why are those two men kissing." That's the question we got last year from our DS and he was five at the time.

I am not intolerant; I just would have liked to know of the open display before we went. Just like if we went to a beach and found out when we walked on that it was clothing optional (although, DH would like that if the girls were buxom, just kidding.)

I'm not really concerned about that, it would be a good opportunity to teach tolerance anyway.

I don't have the type of information you're looking for but you should know that there are many limitations on DVC. Truthfully, you may not be able to be as specific as it seems you are thinking at this point in time. I assume you bought a resale where the owner had banked a week. That week should have an expiration date. You should start listing properties for exchange. Is this a 2 BR, because if it's not, you can't list any resorts that only have 2 BR units?

For HI, I'd say Kona Coast would be it. For Kauia, I'd say Marriott, Hanalei Bay and possible Intrawest. For Key West, Hyatt's, Coconut Beach and Galleon. I can't speak to the activities. Go to Timeshare users group where they have ratings and reveiws as well as a listing of people that have stayed there and a BBS where you can ask questions. Part is free but the review require a membership of $15 for the year and well worth it. Tell them I sent you and I get a free Mug or something.

Hi there. I spent a week at the Cliff's Club on
Kauai several years ago. There weren't any organized childrens activities. Heck, there weren't any activities at all! I think that was
the beauty of Kauai. It is a beautiful island,
and we really had no trouble filling our days.
Actually, when on Kauai you won't feel like doing
much except be on Kauai. I highly recommend it
with or without kids. Everyone will love it.

We are staying in FT. lauderdale in November thru II, I know its not Key West But I was looking for something for my 3 yr old daughter. Its thru the Marriot Time Share (which I hear is almost comparable to DVC as far as rooms etc.) Its on the ocean and has 2 activity directors just for kids!! A seperate large room with an indoor playground (similar to Chuckie Cheese) w/ the tubes on the ceiling etc. They do many activities w/ the kids every day (according to them at least) if yu are interested there website is www.marriott.com/rentals. Its called the Marriots BeachPlace Towers (not sure if that website is correct.
