Anyone have information or experience with any of these II resorts?

Las Vegas - Marriott Grand Chateau
Las Vegas - Club de Soleil

Escondido, CA - Villas on the Green

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - World International Vacation Club

Baja California, Mexico - La Paloma

**I did go on the II website to check out the specs/pictures available there. Wondering if anyone knows more than what's there.

TIA! :wave2:

The marriott in Las Vegas is amazing. It is right on the strip and brand new. It is absolutly beautiful. It was still being built when I was there last but there was a desk in the Aladdin and they were talking it up. That one if you had a choice is a YES.

Kimntrent, thanks for the reply! That's good to hear that the Marriott is beautiful and located right on the strip. Unfortunately, it was the one resort that didn't have any interior pictures to view on the II website. It said that the resort was undergoing renovations.

It is indeed available for the week I'm considering, as are the others I listed here. Decisions, decisions...

Thanks again! :)

Anyone else?

We stayed at the marriott GrandChateau in January 2006. It was nice. It was a new resort but it is not directly on the strip. It is about 1 block back. It is across the side street from the back of the Aladdin which is handy. It is in an excellent location. We walked everywhere. from one end of the strip to the other. There is no gambling in this hotel since it is family oriented. I do not recall any restaurant either in this hotel. I did order grocery delivery for snacks and soda, and breakfast stuff. REally came in handy. I would recommend this timeshare as long as you are expecting a very laid back resort where there is no action taking place. I personally don't think i would go back there unless i got a really great deal on a room. I am sure you will enjoy it.

My info suggests many have had issues with the Grand Chateau, especially the very small and non theme pool there. Club de Soleil seems to be hit or miss but not that positive overall. The ratings for the WIVC in PV were not that high but the one review was pretty favorable. Paradise Village will be a much nicer resort but is somewhat out of town maybe 20 minutes. I don't know enough about the other 2 to speculate. go to www.tug2.net and they can tell you more on the BBS.

Jcanary and Dean, thanks for taking the time to reply with some real good input.

Dean, I appreciate the specifics and the tip to check on tug2.net. I'll be doing that yet this weekend.

Thanks again to all. :)

TUG has a free section and a pay section. It's $15 for year one and $10 a year after than and gives you a free ad, a $10 value. In the pay section they have ratings and reviews which are quite extensive. It may not be worth joining just for this investigation but it's worth considering if you plan to do much exchanging or look into other timeshares.

I see. I would ask you if the free section is any good or not, but I shouldn't be lazy and bother you when I can go check for myself. ;)

I'm considering trading out some DVC points for a week in 2007 at an II resort. I'm locked into a particular week when this vacation would need to happen. So I called MS and asked what II units they had "on deposit" for that week, within a few parameters that I named. The list above were the ones that came up available.

So far, none really excite me. So I may wait a few days and call back, and maybe adjust the parameters a bit. I may be back here asking for input on other resorts. :teeth:

I'm so grateful for the help! :)

The BBS is in the free part and sufficient for your needs. The reviews and ratings are mainly the pay part with a couple of other things related to buying timeshares.

You are making a frequent mistake of DVC members who want to exchange. II doesn't keep good inventory sitting around. Your approach should be to decide where you'd like to go and what resorts you would be happy with. Then place an ongoing request with DVC rather than just taking what's sitting there. What week are you looking to travel and what unit size do you need?

Yeah, I sorta knew I wasn't going about it the best way. This impulsive "fishing expedition" was to see what was out there just in case I hit pay dirt. What a dreamer I am! ;)

I'll PM you with my situation. Thanks for expressing an interest!
