We have a local tme share I beleive we can trade threough interval has anyone ever done this? I really want to go back now in April or May.

Are you trying to exchange into a DVC unit? If so, you are probably in for a challenge. Many of the Orlando time shares have weak trade value and getting into DVC would be problematic. It can be done but you will need to be real flexible as to when you can go and lucky.

I would rent my week and then just pay the rate for a Disney room.

Are you a member of II (Interval International) already? DVC units aren't real plentiful in II and you have to have a high quality resort to be able to trade into DVC. There's also a block that prohibits other Orlando timeshare resorts from trading into DVC.

Even though we're DVC members, we also like to stay at Marriott's Cypress Harbour and the Marriott Horizons resorts in Orlando. We thought it was worth the membership in II for access to their "Getaway" weeks. We travel off season and you can sometimes pick up a Marriott two bedroom for a week for around $700 (with the gold membership in II). So even if you can't trade into DVC, there's always the option of a Getaway week through II at one of the great Marriotts in Orlando. We really enjoyed Marriott's Horizons when we stayed there - it had two themed pools with slides (Pirate themed), a mini water park play area, and a cute miniature golf course. If there would have been a Disney gift shop, I would have thought I was at Disney -

I love DVC and Marriott. I wish Marriott and DVC would partner together on some resorts - especially in some place like Hawaii. I think it would be a good match.

Do you already own? If not, buying to trade in isn't likely a good idea except possibly for those that know the ropes intimately.

I'm kinda confused when I go to the II website they do list some dis properties that we can trade for I thought it was pretty easy to do. I think I'll plan for going back in 2 years and renting rooms.

Being listed in the directory has nothing to do with availability. It's not easy but it's possible if you have the resort quality behind your deposit and can avoid the most in demand times.
