I'm thinking about getting the Internet package while on the ship, so that we can get emails. I had a few questions, my DH is going bring along his laptop. Can we get internet in the stateroom or do we have to go somewhere and use the ship's computers. Was the internet package around $35 for the 3 day cruise? Thanks

There is the internet cafe' by the Promenade Lounge. If you connect from your room, you are going to have to pay the phone charges - YIKES

I'm not entirely sure-been a while. But that number sounds right.

For internet access you have a lcd montior a keyboard a mouse and a shared printer. No place to plug in a laptop, don't even think of bringing it for that. Dialup access is also not possible shipboard.

They have full access to AOL, and directly to the internet. No access to outlook-style email, whoever your provider is, find out now how to access it with web based email, and definitiely no ability to access a terminal server client(buisnesses use this), unless that client also supports web access.

You people need help :smooth: You're on a cruise for God's sake! :smooth: Can't leave the internet alone for 3-7 days? sheesh! After spending the whole year reading emails, working on computers and generally getting paid to be absorbed by technology the LAST thing I want to see is a computer. No email could possibly be THAT important. But, hey, that's just me. If it were me running the internet cafe on the cruise ship, this would be the default home page http://www.netaddiction.com/ :smooth:

No access to outlook-style email

BTW, as one of the many that work on this product, I love that quote. Although it should be Outlook -style (with a capital O )

;)

Well, some of us would like to keep in touch with family and friends. Being that phone calls cost $7/min, email is the cheapest way. A good friend of ours is coming over everyday to look in on our cats and check on the house. He's gonna send me daily status emails. I just like to know that everything is okay back home. But, hey that's just me. :)

We are lucky enought to own our own business - The success of that business is what is paying for that trip - Since we are clear across the country and cell phones do not work on the ship (thank goodness for that one by the way) - My husband needs to know that the business is OK - It is the only way he could relax by knowing that everything is OK - There were a couple of times that things did come up that he needed to take care of - Fortunately, he had email and could take care of it that way - No, he did not spend hours or even a half and hour online - but it was a great thinkg to have as he was able to relax and enjoy our vacation.

That's how I feel too. I need to able to know that everything is OK at home, so I can relax. BTW, I have a daughter name Kaitlin also. Actually, we spell it Kaitlyn and I also have a Kayla. LOL. 5-Year Old Twin girls.

I forgot to ask before, was the cafe very crowded? My 12/19 cruise looks to be sold out. Is there enough computers for everyone to use without waiting? Thanks

LMHO!!! Very funny!!

We are also self-employed (own our own business for our livelyhood) and I was SO proud of my DH on our cruise this past Oct. He didn't check in on the business once!!! We have a great staff and he was finally able to leave the work behind! :)

As far as family goes, they knew how to get ahold of us if there was an emergency.

There are about 10? terminals...I can't remember exactly....sometimes you do have to wait. People seem to respect others waiting and don't take too long. Other times there is no one around. Just depends on time of day.
