I would like to get some ideas for a patio. I would like a flagstone or brick flooring and enough room for a fire pit and chairs. The firepit would be store bought, not built in. I want to have someone come and give an estimate, but I need a photo as I can't seem to get my ideas out in the right words. I did a search, but found sites that give step-by-step directions. Forget that-we would hire someone.

OR if you have a patio that fits this description and wouldn't mind posting a picture, I could use that as well.

We just had this done in an area of our yard that was too shady for grass. The area always looked bad and we had a landscape architect come out and give us some ideas.

She came up with this and we immediately had it done because we loved the idea. It is flagstone with river rock in between. No grout or anything. The firepit is a kit that we got at the landscaping place where we bought the stone.

We have not built a fire yet because we don't have any firewood, but we are looking forward to using it soon.

Yup Nicolemarie, that is just what I am imagining. Ours would be just off the house instead of in a wooded area like yours.
