Do you ever get the feeling that the internet company you're with is fobbing you off all the time..?:confused3

Im with BT (British Telecom) and they have recently charged me full whack for the time when i had a massive down-time for about 3 or 4 weeks...

Yes. We have Time Warner Cable and they provide our internet. For some reason our internet likes to go out a lot so we called and said we weren't paying for that time it was out. We just deduct it off of our bill. They deal with it.

wish mine was as easy to sort out as that...lol but thats companies for you eh? wanting to make lots of money and make daft notions that the down-time was something to do with MY PC or MY router...obviously nothing wrong on their side

I have Verizon FiOS, and for the most part it is great. It doesn't go down as often as comcast, but has these random slow spells. Overall though, its the best as far as connectivity in my area.

What speed do you usually get?

I'm not sure if this is the speed because I'm not a technology wiz or anything, but I think ours is 20 or 30 Mbps, if that's what speed is measured in ( I really have no idea). We have a fiber optic broadband connection. It doesn't really get super-slow, but to the point where it takes 5 minutes for a page to load, which is pretty anoyying.

These forums take a while to load up even when my connection is at full strength...I use ethernet connections directly to my router...i cant trust wireless lol (i know its odd but its just a thing with me) but there are certain times where DIS will take forever to load pages....all other sites such as youtube/facebook/myspace etc will work at the normal speed

I have verizon dsl because my town is too old to get fiber optics just yet.
My connection is sometimes slow because I have to share a tight banwidth. I also have wireless so my connection never passes 54 mbps.
