internet security ???

I have windows 7 on laptop . What's the best FREE security to use? I had AVG and it was good but the cost was high. I now use MICROSOFT ESSENTIALS FREE and I'm having some trouble, never seen so many pop-ups and I have the blocker on full. Sometimes I get a page and can't go anywhere or it goes to a blank page that I know shouldn't be blank.

I use AVG free on mine. I don't have any problems with pop up ads.

My husband uses Avast and I think that's free. He likes it too.

I've used the free version of AVG for the past 3-4 years with no issues at all.
