Internet in room question

I'll be at BLT this weekend staying on points. Is the wire for the free internet already in the room or do I bring one? Do I need I password?

The cable is in a bag hanging in the closet. I don't recall any password. It's free for DVC members. The connection is at the desk in the master bedroom.

The ethernet cord is only about 5 feet long. You may want to consider bringing a longer one if you want some freedom to move around and you are not bringing a wireless router.

There is no password required to access the internet, but you will have to accept Disney's terms to connect.

Read the agreement carefully. It says that you will be charged $9.95/24 hours but the fine print says that DVC members aren't charged.

Maybe and maybe not. Many renters have reported that they were not charged. However, there have been DVC members that were charged and had to go to the front desk and show their blue DVC member card to get the charged removed.

So, you could get lucky and end up without the charge. But, if you did get charged, there would be no way to have it removed because you are not a member.

Unless you are staying with the member, expect to pay for internet. When I logged in yesterday, it got an error and I had to call for assistance. They asked if I was a DVC member and confirmed that I was.

This is exactly what happenned to me. I stayed on rented points, I was charged , I went to the front desk, showed them my DVC member blue card, and they removed the charge and did not charge me for the rest of the stay.

Only the DVC resorts outside of the Orlando area have wireless internet in the rooms. All of the WDW Resorts (including DVC) only have wired internet access in rooms.

If you have a 3G iPad you will be fine. If you have a wi-fi only iPad you will need to have a wireless access point in order to put the iPad on the Internet from your room. There is no wi-fi in the rooms just a wired connection.

There is wi-fi on the 1st floor of BLT. I used my iPad while doing the laundry. You must enter the 19 digit number from your KTTW card to log in.
