Okay, since the Christmas buying is starting, can anyone help me with some ideas? We send some gifts that are mailed directly. I was hoping we could brainstorm ideas. In the past, I've sent wreaths, hot spicy popcorn, etc. and I had a running list of websites on my favorites - that were lost in our computer glitch last spring.

Any suggestions?

Wow - those are cool! Doesn't quite fit what I'm looking for, but I'd love to send one another time. Thanks for the idea - any more out there?

I normally send to my best friend and her family the Williams-Sonoma fuji apple around $19.95. They have loved it every year. I tend to also get them each an individual gift but this one small item keeps them smiling.

I have a couple of ideas...

Racine Danish Kringle are WONDERFUL!!!! Racine Danish Kringle They work nice in the $20 to $30 price range.

We have given memberships for zoos, and various museums for family gifts.
Maybe you could ask on the DIS - are there any good museums near "Their Town"

Please - no cheesehead jokes. ;) This is a wonderful Cheese store that is only about 15 minutes from our house. Their cheese is wonderful. And they do gift boxes to send throughout the US. Jackson Bieri's Cheese

Have fun!

Maybe not what you're looking for, but I passed this site along to several people last year and we all ordered from them and were very pleased!

Simply Sublime

They sell personalized household items where you can choose colors, designs, etc. along with the personalization. Welcome mats, coasters, clocks, serving trays, welcome signs, barware, etc.

we did an alaskan cruise last year and found some great food items made by the alaska spice company. their web site is the same as their company name. they have spices that work well on beef (awsome rub for steak), fish (a salmon treatment to die for) and veggies. it's also nice that they do not add salt or preservatives to their products (my mil is on dialisis and has to be very restrictive in her sodium intake). they have loads of yummy regional goodies that they can batch together and mail off as a gift.

i was at the bath and body store (outlet) the other day, and i noticed a sign saying that their products are now available via the internet. thier bath products are wonderful as are their candles. they also carry a great line of children's products (chocolate and rootbeer shampoo :goodvibes ).

we've received gifts of cheese before, but since our kids tend to stick to the simple things in life-moreoften than not the cheese goes bad before we can eat our way through it :guilty:

one of the nicest gifts we've received via mail was a small wooden box that held about a dozen different types of jams from harry and davids-we had a lot of fun working our way through the different jars, managing to addict ourselves to several flavors (luckily we have one of their outlets nearby now)-they also have the most tasty pears that can be sent by mail, they arrive just a bit under ripe, but within a couple of days

there is always Harry and David. My aunt and uncle use to get us some every year and it was wonderful!

I sent Mrs. Prindalbes Apples to some family members last year and they loved them. It was a holiday gift box of gourmet apples. www.mrsprindables.com

I have received a couple of gift packages from http://www.zingermans.com/Index.pasp, and OMG, they wre delicious. (their rustic bread is TDF). Also, Wolfermans English muffin gifts are delicious, too...(any gift of food is appreciated by me..)

Try www.alaskajack.com

It has a cute coffee travel mug that says Stud muffin!!!

Their Polar bear smooches are to die for, if you like chocolate and mint...yummy!

Thanks for the great ideas - I'm looking into all the websites!
