Internet Cafe Question

Hello,

Leaving for the Magic in 8 hours, and I recently found out I will be expected to work while on my cruise...

Has anyone successfully used Microsoft Terminal Services or Remote Desktop Web Client from the Internet Cafe? Or, has anyone been able to install an Active-X control to the web browsers?

Also, is the Internet Cafe open 24 hours?

The Internet Cafe is open 24 hours. They usually have an Internet Cafe Manager on duty at certain hours who can help with questions, etc.

You could probably call DCL to answer questions about specific software capabilities onboard.

When we sailed in June, the internet cafe manager said they would soon be installing wireless service in the cafe' so users could bring thier laptop from work with all of the apps they need and access the internet.

I don't know if they completed this yet or not.

Wireless was not available as of 10/11 (though they are still promising it soon).

I'm interested to know if something like gotomypc will work .... does anyone know? I think worse case I can possibly use dialup via my verizon cell when I have signal. I'm really disappointed we can't use our own laptops yet ... LOVED that on RCCL Explorer.

gotomypc definately works, and it works well. The speed is amazing. I was able to connect to my office computer at work, then use the modem on my office computer to connect to an information service only available by dial up. Using gotomypc, you can even print things out on your office computer and they will be waiting for you when you get home.

I'd rather not work on vacation, but I run a small business and pretty much have to. However the Internet Cafe and gotomypc make things a lot easier!

I would like to use my own laptop just to get away from that clunky 'safe' broweser they are using.
