There have been a lot of threads lately on cell phones and how they won't work so is it worth the money buying the internet acess card on board because I think their pretty expensive. Anyone have any experience with ther cards or have any suggestions?

We always purchase the unlimited internet plan (there is no "card"). You just sign up on the computer with your name, cabin number, password, etc. and the fee is charged to your stateroom account. You do not have to insert any cards or anything to use the computers.

We find the plan and access to computers very helpful in keeping in touch with family back home, posting on the Dis "live" from the ship, etc. My kids love to talk to their friends so it is much cheaper for us to do the "unlimited plan" than it is to do the "minute" plan.

You have to judge for yourself if it is worth it or not. If you plan on keeping in touch with family via regular phone in your cabin, you will want to keep it short as those minute charges are $6.95 per minute.

How much is the unlimited internet plan on a 7-day cruise?

I think it is in the $80 range. We have never bought the package. When we are on a cruise we are away from the "real world". It can live without us for a week (and we can do without them!)

The Internet Cafe charges 75 cents a minute or $89.99 for the week. Your breakpoint is two hours which will cost you $90 at 75 cents a minute so if you plan on spending more than two hours online then get the package for the week.

What are the hours of the internet cafe? I think that is my best way to keep in touch with the office (I have no choice) but it would be nice if I could go very early in the AM or late at night so as not to take away from family time. It is a vacation, afterall!

The cafe is open 24 hours a day although they do close up shop at 11:00 PM the last night of the cruise (Friday).
