I have a question that I didnt even think to ask the person I rented my points from for our upcoming trip... internet access?? Will I get access as a 'guest' of a DVC owner?

Thanks!

The answer is probably, but it isn't a guarantee. DVC makes distinctions between renters and guests. Guests are people who have not compensated the DVC owner for the use of their points. Our contracts require DVC owners to inform DVC Memeber Services if the person occupying the room is a renter.

So, it depends upon how you are coded into the computer.

So a renter would not be given those rights? I assume you meant it that way??

According to our contracts, unpaid guests of owners receive most of the same perks and priviledges as the owner. A renter is not entitled to member perks and priviledges. But as I said, most renters do receive these perks because the owners do not inform Member Services that they are receiving $ for the reservation.

ok...got it! thanks!!!!

I am SO looking forward to OKW.... I will take good care of it... I promise!

Since you compensated the member for the use of their points, you are not considered their guest. You are a renter. As such, you are not entitled to any DVC perks or benefits. Other than a nice villa at a lower price. Should you try to get any DVC perks, they may ask to see your Blue Member ID card.

You will get the same perks as any onsite guest would get - access to EMH, ability to ship your packages to your resort, etc.
