For our trip in a few days we are planning on taking our notebook so therefore we will need internet access. Do you just buy it 24 hrs at a time or do you get a better deal if you take it for the whole 2 weeks. Also am I right in thinking its not wifi, so do i need any cables with me or are they provided.

TIA

No deals, its $9.95 for 24 hours. There is a cable in every room to connect, I take a little wireless travel router, far easier than connecting by cable, although we do take 3 laptops so it would be like spaghetti junction:rotfl2:

Also don't expect a fast connection, I am used to 20MB at home, I was getting 0.5MB at OKW in August. OK for general browsing but try uploading a video to Youtube and it kills the connection.

Thanks Wayne, we won't be doing much on the computer apart from facebook and checking fairfx account and hopefully using Skype to call home.

sorry to jump in, but is there any of those dongle things (can't you tell I'm computer illiterate!!!) you could buy here or there that would be cheaper, as I'd rather go online little and often so 24 hours is an expensive option.

Wayne,
can you recommend a travel router that is relatively idiot proof in terms of setup?
where im staying is a LAN cable only (radisson lbv) and i would prefer the freedom.

My only experience is this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Linksys-WTR54...K_Computing_Networking_SM&hash=item3361783d22
But I didn't pay anywhere near this, paid about half this price brand new. Had it about 3 years so I am sure there will be better on the market now, sorry I know nothing about them.

no worries, the fact youve had a linksys router for 3 years is impressive,
i normally destroy a router every 18 months or so

Bought it 2nd Oct 2007 for our 2nd trip to Cali. It doesn't get a lot of use as I try to stay in hotels with wireless rooms.
Found reciept from Ebay, it was very cheap for a brand new wireless router.
GBP 19.88
Royal Mail 1st Class Standard: GBP 4.38
