Hello!

Ive noticed several people posting from their rooms during the hurricane!

Are all WDW rooms equipped with internet access? Do you have to request a room with one? What kind of access is it? Dial up? Cable? Is the speed pretty good? Is there a cost?

Heh, Lots of questions I know. But this could be a great alternative to the expensive phone use for us during our stay!

Would love to have any information on this!

Thanks in advance!

Oh, btw, we will be staying at the WL, woods view. Thanks!

yes, there is internet access at the resorts. be sure to bring your cables. there is high speed and some of the resorts still have dial up as well as high speed. the cost for high speed in 9.95/24 hours,( but maybe that is removed by now.) and the dial up is the cost of a call. be sure to use a local dial up number. we have used the dial up several times from WL and OKW. it is good, but we have cable at home and are spoiled. LOL!!

I had recently gotten this info from the web and then checked with disney on resorts that offer high speed internet access:

Coronado SPrings
Yacht & Beach Club
Beach Club Villas
Contemporary
Grand Floridian
Boardwalk
Boardwalk Villas
Saratoga Springs
Old Key West
Dolphin
Swan

Some offer Wifi around the pools.

I recently stayed at Yacht Club in Aug and it worked like a charm.

Keep in mind there is a daily charge for the high speed internet. There is also a separate charge for the wi fi.

Do you know what those charges are? I'll be at the Swan In October and Swan or Dolphin and Poly in April.

Thanks!!

Donna

Swan and Dolphin have a resort fee that includes the high speed internet.

Disney charges 9.95 a day for high speed, 4.95 a day for wi fi.

At the WL, and other hotels (even Motel 6), you can just plug into the phone data jack on the side of the phone, that's what I did last week for dialup. Cost will be 75cents per call at WL. I spent about $9.00 over our stay. Definitely slooooow if you're used to cable, though. If you don't have a dialup account, try Netzero, it's free for 10 hours a month-- worked great for me :)

There are also internet kiosk's. Last year it only cost me a buck to get our seat assignments on Airtran from the one located by Morocco in Epcot. You cannot print from them but we got the seats we wanted.
