For those who have been to Hilton Head since June, has there been any change in Internet broadband availability? Have they by chance installed broadband in the rooms, as in Orlando, or have they put up a Wi-Fi broadband connection in perhaps the Den or Common Room?

If not, then I guess I'll have to go for the Hargray's visitors dial-up account again.

Not sure if this info helps you or not BUT

you can get free wi-fi service at the Mellow Mushroom, right outside the gate of Sea Pines (next to Harris Teeter).

Leaving tomorrow morning and wondering if there is internet access at HH! Anybody know?

No wired broadband, or DVC Wi-Fi. Go out to the main drag, turn right and go about 3/4 mile to the Hargray office. You can get a visitor's dial-up account for $15 for the week.

I was in Live Oak Lodge, and found a very weak open wireless connection one day. I was able to connect and checked the weather online, but then disconnected and didn't use it again. I suspect it was from one of the units across the little bay that wasn't properly secured.

Also, I suggest you tell the front desk, and the manager, if possible, that you would like to have Internet access available, just as at the Orlando DVCs. The more they hear the message, the more likely they will be to eventually put it in.
